"I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting" (1 Timothy 2:8)
The relationship of the word of God with the believer in Christ is one of materiality. In other words, your relationship with the Word is to materialize Him. The problem theretofore is that humans have associated words with communication and expression. However, with God, His Word is a being. John 1:14 says, "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."
Notice Jesus was the Word of God become flesh, full of grace and truth. Today, God's pre-plotted plan is that you become the Word of God in flesh, full of grace and truth. Romans 8:29 tells us, "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." The image that we get is that we have been crafted to be exactly in the mold and specification of Jesus so that He is no longer the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth but we also are the Word of God such that when we are beheld, people see the glory of the Father, full of grace and truth.
One of the mysteries of embodying the Word of God is the mystery of lifting up our holy hands without acrimony or doubts. Prophetically, David ties the lifting up of hands to a spiritual sacrifice. He says, "Let my prayer be set before You as incense, The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice" (Psalm 141:2). Now, in today's theme scripture, we find that it is God's will that when we pray, we lift up our hands. He says, "I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting" (1 Timothy 2:8).
As you behold this scripture, it will make you become what you see. What is important, child of God, is that you behold this scripture with your spirit. "But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does" (James 1:25)
Have a blessed day!
Faith-Filled Confession
As I lift my hands to God each time I pray, let it register deep within me that I am a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God; let it register that I am in the Lord's good graces. Let every wrath and doubt be staunched because it is to God the Father alone that my prayers and lifted hands are directed. Hallelujah!
