THAT MY MINISTRY MAY BE ACCEPTED

"That my service to Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints." — Romans 15:31

Paul understood something important about ministry: being called to serve is not the same as being accepted by those you are called to serve.

Paul was carrying an offering to the believers in Jerusalem. It was an expression of love, partnership, and unity between believers. Yet Paul still asked the church to pray that his ministry would be accepted by the saints.

This reveals the importance of relationship, trust, unity, and a willing heart in ministry.

You can have a genuine calling and still need to cultivate genuine relationships. You can have a powerful message and still needs the heart of the people to be opened by God. You can have an assignment from God and still need the cooperation of people.

Ministry is never simply about what you carry; it is also about how you carry it. Paul did not demand acceptance. He prayed for it. That should teach us something.

Don't force yourself into places where God has not given you relationship or favor. Don't become offended when people don't immediately recognize what God has placed in you. And don't allow rejection to make you bitter.

Serve faithfully. Love people genuinely.  There are people God has assigned you to reach, encourage, strengthen, and serve. Pray that your ministry will not only be powerful but also acceptable, received, and fruitful.

Sometimes the greatest evidence of maturity is not simply having something to say, but knowing how to serve people in a way that allows them to receive what God has given you.

Faith-Filled Confession

I am called and equipped to serve God's people. My heart is humble, my motives are pure, and my service is motivated by love. God gives me favor with those He has assigned me to serve. My ministry is received with grace, and my service produces unity, encouragement, and transformation. I refuse offense, pride, or rejection. I serve faithfully and trust God to make room for the assignment He has placed within me. My ministry is accepted, fruitful, and glorifying to Christ. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
