“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds.”
— James 1:2 (NIV)
Christianity is a mystery to the senses. It stands in direct contradiction to natural reasoning. In Matthew 5:11-12, Jesus said, “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven…” What kind of person rejoices in tribulation? Only someone who has truly embraced the reality of the kingdom of God over the logic of the world.
In the natural, it sounds insane to shout “GLORY” in the middle of a crisis. But that is exactly the response of the man in Christ. The new creation doesn't collapse under pressure—he rises in triumph. When I say that failure is impossible for the child of God, believe it. We are wired for continuous victory. Paul boldly declared, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). This is not a cliché—it’s a reality.
We don’t cower in the face of opposition. We are full of the Holy Ghost and born to overcome. The Christian life is a display of mastery over the systems of this world and the forces of darkness. We are the living proof that Jesus is alive. “Thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumph…” (2 Corinthians 2:14). Even Isaiah prophesied it: “You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you…” (Isaiah 55:12). In other words, the mountains are singing your victory song!
Understand this: the bigger the challenge, the greater the glory. Problems are opportunities in disguise—they are bread for us! When the Israelite spies were intimidated by the giants, Joshua and Caleb declared, “Do not fear the people of the land; for they are bread for us… the Lord is with us” (Numbers 14:9). What a mindset! And these men didn’t even have the Holy Spirit dwelling in them like we do. How much more should we, filled with the Spirit, rise with boldness?
So count it all joy. Every trial is an opportunity for God’s glory to be revealed in you. “All things work together for good to those who love God…” (Romans 8:28). Don’t retreat—advance! Be like David: charge toward the Goliath in your life. Don’t speak fear or failure. Prophesy your victory. Call forth your desired outcome in the name of Jesus.
Even if you caused the trouble you’re facing, once you’ve repented, move forward boldly. Don’t dwell on regrets. Christ’s sufficiency is your sufficiency. Open your mouth and talk your way out of that trouble. Reject guilt. Reject shame. Declare your victory with confidence.
“I walk in prosperity every day of my life!”
“I disallow confusion and frustration in Jesus’ name!”
“Christ is my wisdom—I always know what to do!”
Hallelujah!
So yes—shout “GLORY” in the face of adversity. That’s the kingdom way. That’s our nature. That’s our victory cry.
Faith-Filled Confession
No matter the size, shape, or complexity of any earthly trial, my victory is assured in Jesus Christ. I maintain an attitude of joy and confidence. The joy of the Lord is my strength. I go forth today in joy, wisdom, and supernatural peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
