“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death—even death on a cross.” — Philippians 2:5–8
The Christian life is not only about what we believe; it is also about how we think. The Apostle Paul instructs believers to adopt the same mindset that Jesus had. This “mind of Christ” is a mindset of humility, obedience, and sacrificial love.
Jesus existed in the very nature of God, yet He did not cling to His divine privileges. Instead, He willingly humbled Himself and took on the role of a servant. The King of heaven stepped into humanity, lived among people, and ultimately gave His life on the cross for our salvation.
This example teaches us that true greatness in God’s Kingdom is found in humility and obedience. Jesus did not seek His own glory; He sought to fulfill the will of the Father. His life was marked by surrender and service.
As believers, we are called to reflect this same attitude. Having the mind of Christ means choosing humility over pride, obedience over convenience, and service over self-promotion. It means allowing God’s will to shape our decisions and our character.
When we walk in the mind of Christ, our lives begin to reflect His love, His grace, and His humility to the world around us.
Faith-Filled Confession:
I have the mind of Christ. I walk in humility, obedience, and love. My life reflects the character of Jesus, and I choose God’s will above my own. Through my life, Christ is revealed and God is glorified. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
