"By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land" (Exodus 23:30).
God desires you to elevate your thinking to His perspective, for only then can you fully embrace the blessings bestowed upon you through Christ Jesus. And doing this requires that you contemplate His Word and Christ's triumph over hell and death.
Psalm 84:11 says, "For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless." Thinking on the same level as God with this Scripture requires seeing yourself in the new covenant. Under the old covenant, blessings were contingent on one's actions, and God's favor and honor were tied to maintaining a blameless walk before Him. In contrast, the new covenant bases blessings entirely on grace. This implies that anyone who confesses Jesus as Lord receives favor, honor, and every good thing from the Lord and has done nothing to deserve it.
So, if your mindset is still anchored in a performance-driven approach to blessings, believing in a "do good, get good" or "do bad, get bad" system, you may miss out on experiencing God's favor, honor, and the abundant blessings He has in store for you. As a Christian, remember that God has graciously provided you with all things to enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17). Therefore, align your thoughts, words, and actions accordingly.
When you fail to align your thoughts with God's level, you are left vulnerable to frustration and hopelessness. However, as you embrace the truth of the gospel, hopelessness will become foreign to you.
In Exodus 23:28-30, God said to the children of Israel, "I will send hornets ahead of you so that they will drive out the Hivites, the Canaanites, and the Hittites before you. I will not drive them out before you in a single year, that the land may not become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. I will drive them out before you little by little, until you become fruitful and take possession of the land."
God wasn't denying them what He had promised; rather, He recognized that, at that particular moment, they lacked the capacity to navigate the challenges associated with the promise. Similarly, just as God didn't guide them along the shortest route through Philistine territory, He explained, "If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt" (Exodus 13:17).
Saints, we must each commit to developing our spirits in the Word. We must build a spiritual capacity to withstand the barrage of attacks from hell and people of the senses because success will always attract both the good and the bad. Hence, faith and patience are required to fulfill the Word (Hebrews 6:12). For it is in your patience that you develop character.
1 Corinthians 10:13 states: "...God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear..." In other words, your experiences are commensurable with your spiritual capacity, whether good or bad, and it all depends on the active operational knowledge of God's Word in your spirit. So, focus on developing character through the Word. Be conscious of developing integrity, humility, honesty, truthfulness, and a teachable spirit because an increase without character can ruin a person.
Today, ask God to help you develop the right attitude and character. Study the Word and let the wisdom of the Word dominate your thought processes.
God bless you.
Faith Filled Confession:
The Word of God is the final authority in my life. The Word of God is my reality. My prosperity is in the Word. My victory is in the Word. My health is in the Word. My increase is in the Word. I refuse to be governed by the senses. I live by the Word today. In Jesus' name. Amen.
