YOUR CONFESSION IS YOUR PILOT

08/12/2024

"For with the heart, man believes and obtains righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10:10, Weymouth New Testament).

Have you ever noticed that living right begins with talking right? You can’t walk in victory until you start declaring that you are a victor in Christ Jesus, triumphant over hell and death. Speaking right isn’t about perfect grammar or eloquent speech—it’s about speaking the Word of God. You don’t have to quote Scripture word for word, but your speech should be infused with the wisdom and spirit of the Word.

Consider the story of Adam and Eve in Genesis 3:6. After they ate the forbidden fruit, they suddenly realized they were naked. When God called out to Adam, asking, “Where are you?” Adam responded, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked” (Genesis 3:10). God’s reply was telling: “Who told you that you were naked?” Essentially, God was saying, “Adam, you’re not speaking right. Who have you been listening to?”

Many believers today face the same challenge. Their speech doesn’t align with the Word of God. You might hear Christians confessing depression, lack, sickness, or bitterness, thinking they’re being humble, honest, or just stating facts. But they don’t realize that these negative conditions—depression, sickness, lack—are of their own making. As a Christian, your life will reflect what you confess. The depression, bitterness, and lack are not random; they are a product of your words. If you keep confessing lack, you will never experience abundance. Regardless of your income or savings, eventually, lack and poverty will take hold because your words have power. What you say is what you become—it’s a spiritual law.

Hebrews 13:5-6 (NASB) reinforces this truth:

"Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, ‘I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,’ so that we confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?’" Notice the emphasis on confidently declaring what God has said, not what we feel or assume.

Beloved, your daily confession of God’s promises places you in a position of uncommon favor, victory, and an unending flow of testimonies. I recall stepping into an elevator with a few people. One of them kindly offered to press the button for everyone and asked me, “Are you going down?” I responded, “No! I’m not going down. Please press number 1 instead.” It was a simple interaction, but I was intentional about aligning my words with God’s promises of success and increase. I wasn’t about to agree with anything contrary to His Word for my life. Jesus said, “Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything...” (Matthew 18:19). I knew I had to disagree with that notion.

Refuse to think or speak anything contrary to His Word. See favor, health, victory, and success, and speak them into existence. Praise God!

Faith-Filled Confession:

I have victory over all circumstances and challenges. I experience unstoppable progress and increase in every area of my life. My greatness is multiplied a thousandfold in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
