“So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” (Acts 20:32)
The word of God always produces what it talks about. As a matter of fact, this is the objective of the word of God on the earth. Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
The Lord’s purpose on earth is to reproduce the same outcomes that already exist in heaven and His foremost Apostle or messenger is His Word.
So, on God’s assignment to us as a Church body and as subsets of this body, the Lord has given us a charge to become the Word of His Grace manifested to our world.
But we must understand the meaning of Grace in the context of our assignment. In Acts 20:32, the first thing that Grace means is the divine ability to build up. Build up what? You might ask. Build up every thing and everyone in your orbit. Not person or project should fail or die around you because you have been ordained to build. This Grace of God that we are is a builder.
Number two. This Grace gives a divine inheritance among the saints. What does this mean? It means that you are the distinguishing factor in any situation, group or relationship. For example, in Genesis 30:27, the Bible records that ”…Laban said to him [Jacob], “Please stay, if I have found favor in your eyes, for I have learned by experience that the LORD has blessed me for your sake.” People should be able to trace their blessings and promotion to your presence or input in their lives.
This is why we ought to pray and meditate on the contents of Acts 20:32 as often as possible because it’s our divine destiny.
Saints, it is time to recognize that we carry not only positively changes for people, circumstances and situations but the ability to make these people, circumstances and situations distinguished and set apart according to God’s determination.
What does divine ability and distinguishability to your child, neighbours, coworkers and community look like? What does divine ability and distinguishability to the sick, indebted and confused look like? What it looks like is you!
Today, let these words drive you to pray. Let them help you become broken again before the Lord. Let them be the light that shines on your path. Have an excellent day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Faith-Filled Confession
I am metamorphosed by the Word of God’s Grace to become everything that it says about me. I live as God’s advantage to the peoples of the earth, knowing that God has set me to be a witness of His ability and inheritance which He has earmarked for humanity. I believe this and I declare it now. In Jesus’ name. Amen
