THERE IS POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS
9/26/2026
“…that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” — Philippians 2:10–11
In Acts 4:12, the Scripture declares, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
The beautiful thing about this verse is that it says salvation is only in the name of Jesus. In other words, every kind of salvation is in the name of Jesus. You want salvation from sin, sickness, poverty, failure—you name it; it is all in the name of Jesus.
No wonder Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
The Greek word translated “salvation” in Acts 4:12 is sōtēria, which speaks of deliverance, preservation, safety, and salvation. In other words, the very day you got saved was the very day you were severed from the bondage of lack, sickness, disappointment, and everything that contradicts the will of God for your life.
So, if you are experiencing any form of brokenness, it is not because God has not done something about it. On the contrary, God did something about it: He saved you and delivered you from every form of brokenness and despair.
All you need to do now is take advantage of all that has been wrought for you in Christ and reject anything that is contrary to what God has provided.
In Acts 9:34, we see this principle play out. Peter said to Aeneas, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you! Get up, and roll up your sleeping mat!” And he was healed instantly.
Notice that Peter didn’t pray for him; he simply declared, by the Holy Spirit, what Jesus had already accomplished for him. And when his understanding was enlightened, the work of Christ in his life sprang into reality.
Why didn’t Peter pray?
Peter didn’t have to because Aeneas was already a believer in Jesus Christ. As far as heaven was concerned, Aeneas was already healed and walking. God simply needed someone to tell him what had already been done for him in Christ Jesus.
You may ask, “If it was already done, why was Aeneas still in this situation?” The answer is simple: you cannot enjoy something that belongs to you if you don’t know that it is yours in the first place.
If Aeneas knew that Jesus had already made him well, do you believe he would have continued to live a broken life? I don’t believe so. Now that you have been saved by His name, endeavor to live in and by His name.
I want to encourage you to speak in the name of Jesus today. Talk to your body; tell it to be in health in the name of Jesus. Speak to your finances in the name of Jesus. Speak over your marriage in the name of Jesus. Call those things that be not as though they were in the name of Jesus, because at the name of Jesus, every knee must bow.
Praise God!
FAITH-FILLED CONFESSION
The Lord Jesus is exalted in my life. He is above every situation and every challenge that comes my way. I am confident in the power that is in the name of Jesus. Therefore, I declare in the name of Jesus that I am in health; I have rest on every side. I have been severed from darkness and all its manifestations. I live the God-life now. I prosper all day and in all things, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
