THE WORD OF HIS GRACE: YOUR SPIRITUAL DNA

09/07/2024

When God calls a person, He doesn’t call the person alone. Characteristically, He calls others alongside any person that He places a special purpose on. Peter found his call in the call of Jesus. Elisha was called alongside Elijah. Even you were called in Isaac to be the seed of Abraham, which is Christ. As the scriptures say, “But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.” (Romans 9:6-7).

The meaning of this scripture is that the spiritual Israel, of which you are a part, is not the same as the earthly Israel and that this spiritual Israel is the true seed of Abraham.

You may ask, “Where are you going with this, Pastor?” When God called us as the Grace House Church, He also called you alongside us? Now, you may think you became a ‘partner’ or ‘resident,’ as we like to refer to our brethren, by your own volition, and part of that would be true. However, predestination also played a part in your membership of the Grace House Family and this should never be taken lightly. You didn’t happen upon your membership of our church by chance.

That said, when God called us, He called us to embody Acts 20:32 which says, “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” Now, I say, embody because that’s what every divine call entails. When God calls a man or woman, He calls them to embody His word. In this light, our particular call from the Lord is to embody the word of God’s grace everywhere we go. We don’t just preach it, we are it.

This means that whenever people come in contact with us, they come in contact with the word of God’s grace that builds them up and hands them their inheritance in Christ Jesus. When they come in contact with us, their possibilities in God become apparent. And this isn’t something you work up or try to live up to. This is who you have always been. They can be all that God made them to be based off of what they hear and see of themselves through you.

And this is why it doesn’t matter if you just joined us or you lead a life group or even, oversee a church, your prayers, conduct and carriage must begin to line up with who you are to God, intentionally. You are a builder of people through the instrumentality of the word of God’s grace. People gravitate towards you because in your company, their identity, livelihoods and sense of purpose are greatly enhanced.

Not knowing who you are might have robbed you over the years but now, go stand in front of a mirror, square your shoulders and tell yourself, “I am the Word of God’s grace manifested to the world.” Declare that people are drawn to you because grace flows lavishly from within you and recognize that for once you have absolutely zero doubts about your call and identity in God.

Have a glorious day today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Faith-Filled Confession

I am the word of God’s grace manifested to the world. People everywhere are drawn to the ability of God that I dispense freely through my words, ideas and actions. Because of the call of God on my life, I recognize my magnetic abilities to make others distinguished wherever they find themselves. In Jesus’ name. Amen
