"For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do sountil He is taken out of the way." ( 2 Thessalonians 2:7)
The enemy is almost always on a rampage to kill, steal, and destroy lives. His purpose, the reason for his being, is this. And sometimes, if he can, he will try to hasten the annihilation of people, as we have seen in the Middle East.
Contrary to this, part of our reason for being as the corporate Body of Christ is to deter the annihilation of people, their God-given purposes, and the means by which they live and make their livelihoods.
In today's theme scripture, the concept of lawlessness implies a state in which everything is out of course. People have their consciences darkened and are moved to commit all manner of atrocities. And the Bible explains to us that because this mystery of lawlessness already operates in the world, there are so many desperately wicked things that happen around us.
Our job then as the Body of Christ is to embody our ability to restrain evil through prayer, particularly corporate prayer. The enemy is always scheming the downfall of people in some shape or form, and our job is to deter him from doing so. This is why when a call is given to pray corporately, join in and be active.
Spiritual warfare is almost always a corporate affair, and when we gather together in prayer, the enemy knows we mean business. Jesus said, "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven." (Mathew 18:19).
Get ready to unfurl the enemy's advancement by looking for someone to agree with in prayer today.
Have a beautiful day.
Faith-Filled Confession
I understand my role as a restrainer of evil. And I commit to participate in all calls and promptings to corporate prayer even as I am helped by the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name. Amen.
