COUNT IT BUT LOSS

“But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord...” — Philippians 3:7–8
The greatest exchange you will ever make is not financial—it is spiritual. The Apostle Paul had an impressive résumé. He possessed status, influence, education, and religious credentials that many would have envied. Yet after encountering Jesus, he looked at everything he once prized and declared,"I count it all loss."
Paul was not saying those accomplishments had no value in themselves. Rather, he had discovered something infinitely greater. Compared to knowing Christ, every earthly achievement faded into the background. He had found the Pearl of Great Price, and everything else became secondary.
We live in a world that measures success by titles, possessions, influence, and applause. God, however, measures success by our relationship with His Son. Nothing you gain in this life can compare with the privilege of knowing Christ, walking with Him, and fulfilling His purpose.
This does not mean God is against success or prosperity. On the contrary, He delights in blessing His children. But His gifts must never become more valuable to us than His presence. When possessions begin to compete with your devotion, or ambition overshadows your pursuit of God, it is time to reorder your priorities.
Anything that pulls your affection away from Christ is too costly to keep. But whatever you surrender for His sake is never truly lost. God always replaces temporary sacrifices with eternal rewards, deeper fellowship, greater peace, and lasting joy.
Today, ask yourself: What holds first place in my heart? May your greatest pursuit always be Christ. For when you have Him, you possess the One in whom all things hold together.
God bless you.
Faith-Filled Confession
Christ is my greatest treasure. I gladly surrender every ambition, possession, and achievement that competes with my devotion to Him. My heart is fixed on knowing Him, following Him, and fulfilling His purpose for my life. Jesus is my exceeding great reward, and in Him I have all that I need. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
