"And Elisha said, “As the LORD of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not look at you, nor see you. But now bring me a musician.” Then it happened, when the musician played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him. And he said, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Make this valley full of ditches." (2 Kings 3:14-16)
One of the ways to come under the influence of the Spirit of God enough to speak forth His mind on a subject is through the means of music. And I mean, the right type of music. Music in the spirit realm is a means of transportation for spirit beings. It can be used to invite or dispel certain spirits which is why you must exercise caution with the music you give attention to. David for one used music to rid Saul of a tormenting spirit in 1 Samuel 16:23.
When the right music is sung, the manifested presence of the Holy Spirit can be transported into physical spaces such that people begin to prophesy. Sadly, not every Christian song is a song that can transport the manifested presence of God to enable prophecy. Some songs that often get branded as Christian have no bearing in Christ.
Only songs that originate from Christ can transport His presence and I am not talking about the lyrics alone. Psalm 42:8 says, "The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me— A prayer to the God of my life." Songs of the Spirit are a surefire sign of His presence and the Bible says that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (refer to 2 Corinthians 3:17). In other words, where the manifest presence of the Holy Spirit is, there will be prophecy.
In Job 35:9-10, we see the importance of songs of the Spirit when it says, “Because of the multitude of oppressions they cry out; They cry out for help because of the arm of the mighty. But no one says, Where is God my Maker, Who gives songs in the night."
The right songs are a technology for receiving the mind of God about a matter. Hear me, sometimes, it is not how long you pray, but an accurate word spoken in prophecy that resolves a matter, an addiction, a business hurdle, or a needed connection. These are the songs known as the songs of Zion.
Now, it's not enough to listen to, sing, or play the songs of Zion for the prophetic to be activated. There must be a heart angulated for prophecy. An intention to prophesy must be the purpose f
or the music as is the case in today's theme scripture.
Saint, it is essential to grasp the place of music in the prophetic and harness it for the benefit of the Body of Christ through prophecy.
Have a great day!
Faith-Filled Confession
I am sensitive to the use of music and songs to promote and encourage the manifest presence of the Holy Spirit. I am a mouthpiece of God each time the songs of Zion are sung and there are prophecies for edification, exhortation, and comfort in abundance wherever I am. Hallelujah!
Prayer
Begin with thanksgiving for His victory in our lives. Hebrews 13:15.
"Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name."
Pray for the president of the United States. Pray for wisdom and guidance to lead as he ought. That he will not succumb to the pressure of political influence that goes against God's will for this nation.
Pray for our mothers. Declare that they live long to see and experience the fruit of their labor.
