"I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth" (Psalm 34:1).
Gratitude to God must be from a place of revelation—a revelation of who He is and not just what He has done. While thanking God for what He has done is paramount to continued success and victory, your thanksgiving must be rooted in your revelation of who He is. David said, "I will bless the Lord at all times..." He could have said, "I will bless the Lord if I don't lose the house, job, marriage, or baby." David considered blessing the Lord a calling, and he resolved to bless the Lord consistently, irrespective of external circumstances being favorable or unfavorable. In other words, his testimony was independent of circumstances.
Thanksgiving for David was not optional or tied to a particular day in a year; it was a lifestyle. He said, "...His praise shall continually be in my mouth." In other words, he was committed to blessing the Lord consistently; he was going to keep saying the same thing. I can imagine David repeatedly saying, "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell." The more he said it, the more emboldened he became in the Lord. Hallelujah! These confessions also opened him up to deeper revelations of God, ultimately shaping the quality of life he lived on the earth.
We never should wait to see a physical manifestation before bursting into thanksgiving. We ought to keep confessing what the Word says even when we do not see the physical evidence to back it up. Our thanksgiving must transcend our circumstances. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
Come what may, we must keep pressing, singing the victory of Christ, and thanking God for everything. Today, find out what God has already done for you from the scriptures, and confess them day and night. Concerning your health, declare the goodness of the Lord and confess that God has healed and perfected you. Confess that no sickness or disease can reign in your body because of what the Lord has done. In Jesus' name!
God Bless You.
Faith-Filled Confession:
Thank You, Father, for giving me victory in every situation. I see Your goodness on every side. You have made my life a wonder to the world, and today, I thank You for who You are in me. Hallelujah!
