SUBMISSION IS THE KEY TO ELEVATION

3/31/2025

“He must become more important, but I must become less important” (John 3:30)

Christianity is a life of submission; submitting to the Lordship of the Word. Jesus said, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments” (John 14:15). It’s important that we pay attention to what Jesus didn’t say. He didn’t say, "if you love Me, say that you love Me." Many times, we assume that a person really loves God because he/she is screaming, "I  LOVE YOU, LORD". However, that in itself does not mean that they do. Jesus said, "if you love Me, “Do what I say."  In other words, the proof that you love Jesus is that you do the Word. I’ll never forget what the Lord said to me many years ago. He said, “The Christian life is void without the Word.” The import of that being that we ought to allow the Word of God to govern our everyday experience. The Word should govern our thoughts, words, and deeds. Only then can we truly experience the benefit of our salvation, which includes divine health, prosperity, and an unending stream of success.

I have never met anyone who lived a life of total submission to God’s Word that turned out to be a failure. It doesn’t exist and never will. It doesn't matter what the transient contrary circumstance is or who is up against you; if you would submit to the authority of the Word, the Word will prevail over them all. Acts 19:20 says, “So mightily grew the Word of God and prevailed.” The Word always prevails because the Word is God (John 1:1). Hallelujah! I said it makes no difference what the situation is or how long it has been there. The Word always works! You may be thinking, "Pastor, I have been doing and speaking the Word but nothing has happened." Hear me, saint; the Word does not fail because the Word is God and God does not fail.

1 Timothy 4:15 says, “Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.” In other words, if the Word is in you, nothing can stop your progress. A fellow once said to me, that he would have succeeded in life if it hadn't been for the opposition he faced growing up. And my response was: "Not with the Word in you." They may have written you off, but if you would put the Word in you and become an effective doer of the Word, it will only be a matter of time before your success becomes a visible and tangible reality for others to see. Jesus said, “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because its foundation was on the rock” (Matthew 7:24). In other words, anyone who is a doer of the Word, has it made and nothing can stop such a person.

Your elevation is connected to your submission - your submitting to the Word. Let's look at the life of Jesus for example. His success had everything to do with Him submitting and yielding completely to the will of the Father. Again and again, you would hear Him say, "I came not to do My will but the will of the Father that sent Me" (John 6:38). Even in the garden of Gethsemane, He humbled Himself to the Father’s will. When you submit to the Word, you position yourself to not only produce Jesus' kind of results but even more. In other words, the potential of outdoing Jesus is already birthed in you (John 14:12). Hence, you must learn the Word with an attitude of submission. Resolve to do whatever the Word says. Make the Word your final authority because it’s the key to your elevation.

God bless you.

Faith Filled Confession:

My steps are ordered in the Word. I do not falter. By Your Words, O' Lord, I can see where I’m going; they throw a beam of light on my path. I’ve committed myself and I’ll never turn back from living by your righteous order (Psalm 119:105-106; Psalm 119:133).
