“Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.” (1Corinthians 4:1-2)
Every believer in Christ is a minister of God; a steward with responsibilities to administer the Father's secrets on the earth. The Christian is a purposeful representative of Christ whose responsibilities are not just generic. Rather, there is a specificity to your call. The Bible refers to you as “… a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).
Your principal job as a steward is to proclaim the praises of God by way of your personal and corporate testimony. Did God save, heal, empower, increase or bless you? Your job is to provide proof of His wonders in your life.
What happens when you don’t have proof of God’s wonders in your life? It means that you aren't bearing fruit and there is a way to fix this. Jesus said, "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." (John 15:4-5). To abide in the Lord is to fellowship with the Lord through prayer and Bible meditation.
Notice, the Master says, the branch of itself, cannot bear fruit, meaning that He is responsible for giving you the increase about which you testify. You are responsible for abiding in Him and opening up for Him to abide in you. This means that as long as you are in sync with the Lord through prayer and meditation, you will have something to testify about .
Stewardship, to God, begins in your fellowship with Him. When Jesus healed the paralytic at the pool of Bethesda, He told us how He did it. John 5:19 says, "Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner."
How did He see what the Father was doing? He saw Him through fellowship in prayer and through meditation. One time, Jesus read from Isaiah 60:1-2 and declared that He was the fulfillment of that script because He had fellowshipped with it through meditation (refer to Luke 4:18-19)
This is the same news I bring to you today; that everything the Father is doing is within your capacity to do, if you only fellowship with the Father. There are testimonies that will only happen as a product of your fellowship. So put away every distraction and concentrate on fellowship.
Have a great day
Faith-Filled Confession
I am a steward of God's secrets and His secrets are made known to me in the place of fellowship. I therefore declare that everytime I fellowship with the Lord, access with confidence is granted me, so that secrets, solutions, and answers are made plain to me and through me and the glory is given to the Lord. Hallelujah
