"Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem...He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper" (2 Chronicles 26:3,5)
Pray about everything. Understand that you are not your own, and the owner should be informed about the minutest details affecting His property, even if you think He already knows. "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?" (1 Corinthians 6:19).
The onus is, therefore, on you, as long as you live to intimate God about everything. Understand this, you are not competent to handle anything in your life without the Resident within. The Bible says, "...as long as he [Uzziah] sought the LORD, God made him prosper" (2 Chronicles 26:5).
Now, I have heard some people say there is a place for commonsense and a place for prayer and this is true if a person is operating as an owner and not a custodian. The moment you understand custodianship, you know that continuous consent from the owner is a must.
This should remind us of David, who, having lost his family and possession to an enemy raid asked the LORD, “...Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all” (1 Samuel 30:8). Commonsense might have dictated that he pursue after the raiders for the sake of his men who also lost their families to the ordeal, but David prayed about it first.
Saints, Uzziah sought the LORD so much during His reign that Judah became not only the military superpower but the technology superpower of his day. The Bible says, "But when he was strong his heart was lifted up, to his destruction, for he transgressed against the LORD his God by entering the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense" (2 Chronicles 26:16).
So what does this mean? Only the priest has a place in the temple, who you are. The king makes decrees and executes the word of God only after the priest has done his job. And yes, I know that the Bible says we are kings and priests (according to Revelations 1:5-6), but to embark on anything without first consulting the LORD is prideful and dangerous. So pray to God about everything.
You are blessed.
Faith-Filled Confession
I am mindful that I am not my own. Therefore, I continue in prayer to God concerning all that concerns me, knowing that He cares for me to the minutest details. I am a friend of God and I talk to Him about everything to know exactly how I should approach them. Glory to God!
