INTENTIONAL SPIRITUAL GROWTH
10/19/2026
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.” — 2 Peter 3:18
Spiritual growth does not happen by accident; it requires intentionality. In Matthew 13, Jesus describes how the same seed produced different results depending on the ground on which it fell. Only the good ground produced a harvest. This teaches us that a fruitful spiritual life requires a heart that is prepared to receive God's Word and a willingness to act on it.
First Peter 2:2 (NLT) encourages us to crave the nourishment of God's Word so that we may grow into a fuller experience of our salvation. It begins with a desire to grow.
Saints, identify the areas in which you desire to grow, whether in patience, love, prayer, or the study of God's Word. Develop a practical plan, study what Scripture says, listen to the Holy Spirit, and deliberately put the Word into practice. Do not compare your progress with others; evaluate yourself by how far you have come.
In 2 Peter 1:5–8, we are encouraged to diligently develop qualities such as knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, kindness, and love. As these qualities increase in us, we become fruitful in our knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Beloved, do not leave your spiritual growth to chance. Be intentional about feeding on the Word, applying its truth, and following the Holy Spirit. Keep growing, one step of obedience at a time, and let your life increasingly reflect the character of Christ.
You are blessed!
Faith-Filled Confession
Father, give me an increasing hunger for Your Word. I am intentional about my spiritual growth, and I continually grow in grace, wisdom, love, and the knowledge of Jesus Christ. By Your Spirit, I put Your Word into practice, and my life bears fruit to the glory of Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.
