"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
We are products of our obedience to spiritual instructions. When the Spirit of God instructs us, we must not subject His instructions to human reasoning. Proverbs 15:32 says, "Whoever ignores instruction hates himself, but anyone who heeds reproof gains understanding." Paul put it this way in Galatians 6:8: "Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life." In other words, when you choose to carry out instructions that gratify the flesh, you can only expect defeat. On the other hand, when you choose to carry out the instructions of the Spirit of God, victory, success, glory, and testimonies become commonplace in your life.
1 Thessalonians 5:16 gives an instruction that can set you on the path of unending victory and testimonies when followed. It says, "Rejoice always." In other words, no matter what you feel, hear, or see, your response should be to REJOICE! Whether things are going smoothly or whether you are facing challenges, rejoice! James 1:2 says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds." Why would the Spirit of God tell you to consider trials of many kinds pure joy? It is for the reason given in 2 Corinthians 4:17: "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all." In other words, the trouble is only there to bring about your promotion. The hardship is not there to destroy you. In reality, there is nothing that can destroy you. David knew this, and he wrote in Psalm 27:1-3: "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident." 1 John 4:4 says, "Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." When you get a revelation of this Scripture, you will rejoice in every situation. Others around you may be bamboozled by your boldness and confidence in the face of adversity, but you'd know that you have the Holy Ghost in you, working in you 24/7.
Today, choose to rejoice. Look beyond all of the contradictions and shenanigans of the devil and choose to do the Word. Rejoice always!
You are blessed.
Faith-filled Confession:
I rejoice on account of all that the Word of God has said about me. I rejoice, knowing that I have been set apart for victory and abundance. I celebrate my health and prosperity today. Hallelujah!
