"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth" (Psalm 46:10).
Have you ever been in an overwhelmingly challenging situation where you prayed to God, and all you could hear Him say was, "BE STILL?" In such times, "be still" might not be what you expect to hear. Yet, you must understand that when you pray, God's Word to you at that moment represents your miracle, regardless of how illogical it may sound. His Word to you is your victory over that situation.
Being still is not a state of passivity. On the contrary, it is the time when you affirm God's Word with thanksgiving and praise. It's the ideal time to be unrelenting in uttering words full of faith-filled words. In Psalm 46:1-3, David declared, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof." In simpler terms, regardless of the external circumstances we perceive, hear, or experience, we stand resolute against fear. We will remain unwavering in our declaration of strength and victory. That's the essence of being STILL.
Recall the account of Moses facing the Red Sea. The Bible recounts that when the Israelites lifted their eyes and saw the approaching Egyptians, fear gripped them, and they cried out to the Lord. They questioned Moses, saying, "...Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt? Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, 'Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians'? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness" (Exodus 14:11-12).
Their confession revealed the grip of fear on them, causing them to lose sight of God's eternal Word. But thanks to Moses, the man of God, he spoke up and declared, "...Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace" (Exodus 14:13-14). Hallelujah!
Listen, child of God; it makes no difference what's before you today. It will bow to the God in you. You may look outnumbered, but be still. Stay resolute and listen for God's voice in your spirit. With the Word that He echoes in your spirit, you can effect the desired change. So cheer up and BE STILL.
Faith-Filled Confession:
The Word of God is superior to every challenge that is before me. God's Word never fails. God's Word is working in my life, in my home, and in all my affairs. God's Word is magnified in me. Hallelujah!
