THE GOLDEN RULE

“Do to others as you would have them do to you.” — Luke 6:31
In one simple statement, Jesus gives us a powerful principle for daily living. Often called the Golden Rule, this instruction challenges us to treat others with the same kindness, respect, and love that we desire for ourselves.
It’s easy to treat people well when they treat us well. But Jesus calls us to a higher standard—one that is not based on how others behave, but on the condition of our own hearts. This means showing patience when others are difficult, offering kindness when it’s not returned, and extending grace even when it’s undeserved.
When you apply this principle, it transforms your relationships. Before you speak, you ask, “Would I want this said to me?” Before you act, you consider, “Is this how I would want to be treated?” This mindset produces love, humility, and peace.
Living this way reflects the nature of Christ. Jesus consistently treated people with compassion, dignity, and love, regardless of their status or behavior. As His followers, we are called to do the same.
Today, make a conscious decision to treat others the way you want to be treated. Let your words, actions, and attitude reflect God’s love.
Faith-Filled Confession:
I walk in love and treat others with kindness and respect. I extend grace, patience, and compassion in all my interactions. My life reflects the love of Christ, and through me, others experience His goodness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
