FORWARD AND UPWARD

“Now Elijah said to Ahab, ‘Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of the roar of a heavy shower.’” — 1 Kings 18:41
It’s easy to receive from God. I know many have made it a mystery, but when you study the Word of God, you quickly realize that God is more eager for you to receive from Him than you could ever imagine. It reminds me of the prodigal son. The father was more willing to forgive him than he could ever fathom. I dare say that the father forgave him even before he asked for mercy. Better still, the father’s forgiveness was not the result of him asking for mercy. The father’s giving and forgiveness were purely from the place of, “This is my son, and I will do anything for him.”
That is the same way that God loves us. His giving was the result of His love, and all we did was receive His love and mercy. The same thing is true with prayer. Whenever God moves on your heart to pray, that is Him saying, “I have something for you that I want you to receive.” He asks us to pray because that gives Him the legal right to operate in our affairs.
Time and time again, we have seen instances in the Bible where nothing happened until godly men lifted their voices and cried out to God. One may be asking, “Why can’t God just do something? After all, He is God. He doesn’t really need us. Besides, we are the ones that need Him.”
You are right to make such assumptions of the Father, but the reality is that God Almighty can’t do anything, even if He wants to, without the invitation of vessels from this realm.
Jesus said in Matthew 7:7, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Notice, Jesus didn’t say, “Wait or hope that God will move, and He will.” Rather, He said, “ASK and you will receive.”Meaning, only those who ask will receive.
So, when God moves on your heart to pray, that is a signal that He is about to do something in your life, and all you have to do is pray according to His leading.
Again, He said when He taught on prayer in Matthew 6:10, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
Meaning, whatever He is inviting you into is already done in the heavens. So, when you pray as He leads, you will be bringing the realities of Heaven concerning you to be established here on earth. Praise God!
As we were approaching the month of October, I saw a cloud of God’s power moving to and fro across the earth, signaling a mighty move of God’s Spirit. It felt like a storm was coming. There were light showers that didn’t match the thickness of the cloud. Then it quickly dawned on me that those showers were God’s seeds. Better still, the showers were God’s signal to His people that something is about to happen.
Now the Lord is saying, “Tell the people to FORWARD AND UPWARD.”
God is calling His Church to participate in the move of His Spirit. Our cities need this. Our families need this. Our church needs this. You need this.
And the way we are going to participate is through prayer, generosity, and thanksgiving to God.
As I mentioned earlier, it’s not a mystery to receive from God. All you have to do is follow His leading. And His leading this month is to respond to every prompting of the Holy Ghost to pray, give, and thank the Lord.
If you will follow the leading of God’s Spirit this month, you will experience the grace that pushes destinies FORWARD AND UPWARD.
Having said that, I believe your story and testimonies this month will be FORWARD AND UPWARD ONLY. In Jesus’ Name! Amen!
So, welcome to October, your month of FORWARD AND UPWARD in every area of your life.
God bless you.
