FOR MINISTERS AROUND THE WORLD

1/13/2026

Ephesians 6:18–19

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.”

Colossians 4:3–4

“Meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.”

One of the highest privileges God has given us is the call to pray for His ministers. Spiritual leaders are God’s gift to His people; they are an expression of His love and care for the Church. God places shepherds over us because He values us, and to be entrusted with the responsibility of praying for them is an honor.

As stated previously, it is impossible to genuinely pray for leaders while maintaining a critical or judgmental spirit toward them. Spiritual leaders are prime targets of the enemy. Scripture tells us in Zechariah 13:7, “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.” The enemy understands that if the shepherd is wounded, access to the flock is made easier. For this reason, it is to our benefit to pray—and even fast—for spiritual leaders, not only those who directly cover us, but also those serving in our cities and across the world.

Denominational differences must never become barriers to prayer. Whether a minister is a Catholic priest, a Pentecostal pastor, or an elder in another Christian tradition, they are still God’s servants. You do not have to like them or fully agree with their doctrine to function in your office as a praying priest. Prayer is not optional—it is a solemn responsibility. God has not categorized His ministers by denomination; Psalm 104:4 declares that He makes His ministers flames of fire. When ministers are strengthened and effective, the kingdom advances and the name of our Lord Jesus Christ is glorified.

Jesus said, “If you love Me, you will keep My command.” When you pray for spiritual leaders, you are declaring your love and obedience to Christ. Let praying for spiritual leaders become your lifestyle.

Prayer Points

Thank God for clergy in your nation and around the world who are faithful in feeding and nurturing God’s people.

Pray that the Holy Spirit will stir boldness in ministers of the gospel to teach sound doctrine and speak truth without fear.

Pray for wisdom and discernment for ministers and ministry leaders to lead and manage according to God’s will.

Pray for an outpouring of God’s grace upon ministers; declare a fresh manifestation of diverse spiritual gifts in this season.

Pray that the preaching of the gospel will be accompanied by miracles, signs, and wonders that bring conviction to the unbelieving.

Pray for unity, support, and oneness between ministers, their leadership teams, and congregations.

Pray that as ministers care for God’s flock, their homes will not be neglected; declare prosperity in their health, finances, businesses, and relationships.

Faith-Filled Confession

I thank God for ministers of the gospel in my community and around the world. I especially thank God for my pastors and ministry leaders. I declare that the grace of God upon their lives is multiplied in this season. I align myself with the vision of my local church and commit to doing my part in seeing that God’s will is accomplished. Amen.
