“With your help, I can advance against a troop; with my God, I can scale a wall” (Psalm 18:29).
The enemy is relentless but hopeless in his effort to make you believe that you are not what the Word says that you are. He will do everything he can to dissuade you from the reality of who you are in Christ, but that too is a fruitless effort. The Scripture says “give no place to the devil” because if you do, he will take it in a heartbeat. His strategy is to always flood your thoughts with ideas, pictures, and words that create a sense of hopelessness and despair. He will present your job, spouse, and church as hopeless and suggest to you that you are a misery going nowhere. He is relentless but hopeless because you are his limitation in this world. As long as you are aware that everything the Word says about you is an eternal reality, his activity in your world is limited, if not crippled.
Hence, you must maintain an attitude of thanksgiving. As long as you are on earth, you will face rebellious circumstances that will not submit to weak faith; it may range from issues with your health to finances and these issues could sometimes present as hopeless. These hopeless situations will only submit to a stubborn attitude of thanksgiving that says the Word of God is settled. An attitude of faith that does not consult the senses for realities; one that is rooted in a conviction that God's Word is final. Esther had it. She knew that if she appeared before the king uninvited, it would result in her death, yet she said to Mordecai, "Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish" (Esther 4:16). That's stubborn faith! Such faith does not flinch no matter the size or severity of the situation. The cannanite woman was another person with stubborn faith. Even when the disciples of Jesus taunted her and asked her to leave the master alone, she did not give in. And when Jesus called her daughter a dog, she still did not give up because she had one thing on her mind. Her only desire was to see the demon that was troubling her daughter leave. She said to the Lord, "Yes, Lord; but even the dogs feed on the crumbs which fall from their masters' table" (John 15:27). In other words, I am not leaving without a miracle. Then Jesus said to her, "O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish." And her daughter was healed at once” (John 15:28). Praise God!
This kind of stubborn faith is already in you; you were born again with it. Now stir it up, let it saturate your whole being. Have the attitude that says, no matter what I see and face, no matter the challenges that may come my way, I have already overcome. This is why faith-filled confessions are very important. With faith-filled confessions, you can keep your thoughts on the Word. Just imagine that you kept one thought from God’s Word in your heart and mouth for twenty-four hours. How would your life look if you kept saying, “I have the life of God in me. I am superior to sickness, darkness, hopelessness, and defeat." If you kept saying those words, one thing can be assured; your life will be filled to the overflow with the glory of God.
This was David’s attitude and it should yours as well. David declared, “With You, I can attack a line of soldiers. With my God, I can break through barricades” (Psalm 18:29 MSG). In other words, with the Word in me, I have prevailed against every adverse circumstance. So seize the word; put it in your heart and in your mouth. Unleash the word against every rebellious circumstance that contradicts your joy. Don't settle for less! You are a victor in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
God bless you!
Faith-Filled Confession:
No matter what I see, feel or hear today, I am a victor over them all. I subdue every element of darkness today. I refuse to fear or function based on assumptions. The word of God is final authority and I walk by it. I choose love over bitterness. I choose forgiveness over unforgiveness. I choose to speak the Word only today. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, AMEN!
