DON’T PLAY ALONG ANYMORE

“…Don’t sin because others do, but stay close to God” (1 Timothy 5:22 CEV).
There are certain conversations that can put a destiny in abeyance until corrective measures are taken. They may present as harmless conversations that are factual on the surface, yet, from the standpoint of the spirit, they are destiny killers. A great example is Miriam's conversation with Aaron as they discussed Moses and his choice of a wife. They said, “Has the Lord spoken only through Moses? Hasn’t He also spoken through us?” The truth was that God had spoken through them as well because the Scriptures record how God used Mariam to give a prophetic song after the children of Israel crossed the red sea. So, she was right when she said that God had spoken through them. However, there was a problem with the context in which her question was asked. Her question was coming from a place of anger and disappointment and was intended to undermine Moses’ authority. She had taken her personal dispute with Moses too far. She could have prayed about it since she didn’t understand why Moses made the choice that he made for a spouse. That could have settled it and shut the door which the enemy was trying to open. But she didn’t do that. Instead, she dwelled on it until Aaron got on board. Aaron too could have shut it down when Mariam brought it up but he didn’t; instead, he played along, and this led to the abrupt end of Miriam’s life and ministry.
Here’s my counsel to you: if you hear someone make a sarcastic statement about a minister of God or anyone else for that matter, whether you know the minister or that person or not, don’t play along. Put an end to the conversation quickly and make it clear that you are not a part of it. Someone may come to you about your pastor or another minister of God and say, “Why is he/she the only one that preaches? There are others in the church that can preach just as good or even better. If he/she will allow others preach, the church will grow faster.” Such mindset and conversation is very poisonous and can destroy a person's destiny. If Mariam, who was also anointed, was not spared, we must take caution.
1 Corinthians 15:33 says “Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character.” In other words, every time you participate in a conversation that paints someone who is anointed in a different light, you open your destiny up to decomposition. For Mariam, she lost her reputation as a prophetess, she lost her ministry and ultimately, she lost her life. She never recovered even after God forgave her and healed her of leprosy.
Child of God, you may never understand everything, but your job is to pray and trust the move of God even when you can’t see it. People are going to come to you because they want to air their grievance about others. But you must be wise in handling such situations. Encourage them to take it to the person directly. If they are hesitant in doing so, you could intervene by taking them to the person in question and encourage a dialogue between the two; then walk away and then let them deal with it. Under no circumstance should you tolerate, or play along with those who make crude jokes or sarcastic comments about ministers of God.
Don’t partake of the sin of others. There is an anointing over your life; guard it with everything; it’s worth losing a friendship over.
God bless you.
Faith Filled Confession:
Christ is my wisdom. I have the wisdom to know what conversations I need to engage in and what conversations I need to avoid. I am guided by the Spirit of God. I will not partake of the sin of any other, in Jesus' name. Amen.
Prayer Point
Jude 1:24-25 says, “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
1. Pray for those facing challenges in their faith, and for those whom Satan is stirring off the course of their calling in Christ through various temptations and trials.
2. Pray that their faith fail not, that they be strengthened by the Spirit in their inner man, triumphing by the Word sown in their hearts, and their faith prevails in all circumstances.
3. Declare that they hold fast to their calling, living in and by the Word, irrespective of circumstances, that they may finish their course with joy, bringing glory to the Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
