CONFESS THE WORD

03/14/2024

"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not" (Galatians 6:9).

Many want to know, "For how long should I confess the Word?" Especially when situations seem unchanged or even worsen. It can get really dire when you expect the mountain to move upon speaking to it but realize that the only thing that moved was your lips.

Let me begin by saying this: God's Word never fails. You must accept this with every fiber of your being and give the Word final authority in your life. The Word must become your reality, with no "ifs" or "buts". Luke 1:37 says, "For no word from God shall be void of power," because the Word is God (John 1:1), and God cannot fail. Praise God! Isaiah 55:11 says "So shall My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it."

Secondly, you must have faith in the Word of God that comes out of your mouth. Jesus said in Mark 11:23, "For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith." In essence, Jesus impressed the importance of believing in your confession because only then will you have whatever you say.

Lastly, you must be consistent in your confession of God's Word. Do not allow the physical realm to take control of your confession. In Mark 11, we are told of how Jesus came to a fig tree hoping to find fruit; on getting there, He noticed that there was no fruit. Yet the tree spoke to Jesus. The Scripture says, "Then the Lord answered and said unto it, no man eat fruit of thee hereafter forever" (Mark 11:14). "The next morning as they passed by the fig tree he had cursed, the disciples noticed it had withered from the roots up. Peter remembered what Jesus had said to the tree on the previous day and exclaimed, 'Look, Rabbi! The fig tree you cursed has withered and died!'" (Mark 11:20-21) Bear in mind that when Jesus gave the Word, there was no physical evidence to verify that the Word given was indeed working. What does this tell us? Not having a verifiable sign does not invalidate the working of the Word. Galatians 6:9 says, "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." In other words, RELAX! The Word is working miracles behind the scenes. It does not have to conform to your expectations, but be rest assured that His Word spoken from your lips will not return empty without accomplishing the divine desire and without succeeding in the matter for which it was sent.

Back to the question: "For how long should I confess the Word?" The answer is for as long as the change you desire is real to your spirit. 2 Corinthians 4:13 says, "I believed; therefore I have spoken." In other words, it was first in my spirit; and because it was real in my spirit, my mouth had to consistently speak it forth. So when you say, "I am blessed, favored, and prospering," it's because it's already real in your spirit. Truth be told, the moving of your lips is more important than the moving of a mountain. As long as your lips are proclaiming the Word, no mountain can successfully stand in your path. So be encouraged. Don't allow the appearance of a physical delay to undermine your faith in your confessions. Jesus said you will have whatsoever you say. So have faith in God; the Word is working!

God Bless You!

Faith-Filled Confession:

The Word of God works in my life. I lay hold of all that is mine in Christ Jesus. God's Grace has spoken for me and I boldly echo His Words: I am favored of God; my path overflows with prosperity; I live each day in health, peace, and joy. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Prayer Points

  • Pray that God will birth and ignite in us an unquenchable passion for the lost.

  • Pray that our ministry will be received by those to whom we are sent. Romans 15:30-31

  • Let's Continue to Pray that God's people will live revived, broken, and awaken to God's will, grace, instruction, and correction in righteousness.

  • Let's continue to pray that God's people will live undistracted by the pleasures of this world. Also, pray that none of us will yield to the demand of the flesh and the devil.
