“You have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Christ is your life. When He appears, then you, too, will appear with Him in glory.” — Colossians 3:3–4
The moment you confessed the Lordship of Jesus and were born again, something extraordinary happened. Heaven, earth, and hell took notice. You did more than recite a prayer—you experienced a divine translation. The Bible declares that God “delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love” (Colossians 1:13).
This was not a case of God polishing or refurbishing the “old you.” No—the old you died, and a brand-new creation came into being. You became what never existed before: the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17). Hallelujah!
Our text declares: “Christ is your life.” That is breathtaking! As a believer, your existence is no longer defined by natural bloodlines or earthly heritage. Your spiritual DNA is traced to Christ Himself. That means generational curses, inherited sicknesses, and negative family patterns no longer have a claim on you. You are “born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:13).
Think of it this way: a dog can only give birth to a dog, a cat to a cat—each passes on its own life. John 1:12–13 tells us that those who believe in Jesus are given the right to become children of God, born of Him. So when God gives birth, He imparts His own life—the God-kind of life. That is why Psalm 82:6 says, “You are gods; you are all sons of the Most High.”
Peter reinforces this truth: “Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever” (1 Peter 1:23). This means you now have an indestructible life—a life superior to sickness, lack, and death; a life marked by victory and dominion.
This is why a powerless Christian life is a contradiction. With God’s life flowing in you, miracles and testimonies should be your norm. But many believers live below their inheritance, either through lack of teaching or wrong teaching. Ecclesiastes 10:5–7 describes it as a great evil when princes walk as servants while servants ride on horses. When sons of God fail to walk in their divine identity, it is not only tragic for them—it withholds God’s glory from the world.
So I urge you today: wake up to your divinity! Rise to your true identity in Christ. Refuse to think or live as a mere man. Exercise your authority. When symptoms of sickness or situations of lack arise, enforce the truth of God’s Word and declare boldly who you are.
Christ is your life. Therefore, live and govern yourself accordingly.
Faith-Filled Confession
I am strong, healthy, wise, and victorious! Christ is my life. I live above sickness, lack, failure, and defeat. The very life of God flows in my veins. I am born of God, free from curses, free from fear, and full of power. My life is marked by miracles, favor, and victory. Praise God forevermore!
