“…this one was born in Zion.” —Psalm 87:4
Jesus said in His prayer to the Father, “They do not belong to this world any more than I do” (John 17:16). He was speaking about you and me. If we are not of this world, then where are we truly from? The answer is found in discovering where Jesus came from. Because the more you know Jesus, the more you discover yourself.
John 1:14 tells us, “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us… full of grace and truth.” Jesus was the Word in human form. Though He looked like any other man walking the earth, He was entirely different—divinity clothed in humanity. He was the God-Man. This was a concept the religious leaders of His day struggled to accept. Their resistance, however, did not diminish His identity or the impact of His ministry.
When Jesus said, “I and the Father are one”(John 10:30), they picked up stones to kill Him. He challenged their reasoning: “For which good work do you stone Me?” Their answer reveals their issue: “…because You, a mere man, claim to be God.” Jesus responded by quoting their own Scriptures: “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’?” (John 10:34). In other words, He reminded them of a truth they had neglected—those who receive the Word of God are elevated to divine sonship.
Some believers today still struggle with the idea of being called “gods.” But Scripture is clear: “Dogs don’t give birth to cats.” If we are born of God, then divinity is our nature—not because of our works, but because of our birth in Christ. Psalm 82:6 says, “You are gods, and all of you are children of the Most High.” The next verse draws the line of distinction: “But you shall die like mere men…” In other words, those born in Zion were never meant to live or die like ordinary people. What happens to the world is not permitted to determine their destiny. Sons of Zion are designed to dominate circumstances, not bow to them.
Look closely at Jesus: He never went around announcing, “I am God.” Yet His words, character, miracles and dominion made it unmistakable. Nicodemus recognized this when he said, “No one could do the signs You do unless God is with him”(John 3:2). What he didn’t realize was that Jesus was more than a man whom God was “with”—He was God expressed in human form.
Here is the truth for you: until you awaken fully to the revelation that you are a son of God—born in Zion—your divine identity will remain hidden beneath natural thinking. God desires to make a statement through you. Since the day you were born again, His purpose has been to live big in you—in power, in glory, and in love.
So embrace who you are. You are not from this world. You are a citizen of Zion. The anointing of God rests upon you. Walk in love, forgive quickly, refuse offense, and manifest the character of your homeland. You are supernatural. You belong to the company of the divine. You love as Jesus loves, because you are born of Him.
God Bless You!
Faith-Filled Confession
I am not of this world—I am born in Zion.
And in Zion, no one says, “I am sick.”
Therefore I declare that I am strong, healthy, and full of divine life.
The power of God is at work in me.
I overcome the systems of this world, for I am more than a conqueror through Christ.
I know who I am. Hallelujah!
