“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
— 1 Peter 4:10
There is a higher purpose to life than living for oneself—and truthfully, a life centered only on self is not life at all. If your days, weeks, and months revolve solely around your own needs and those of your immediate family, you are not fully living the God-life. God created you for more. Much more.
God has placed something within every believer—grace, ability, gifting—that is meant to be used in service to others. And when we serve others in Christ, we are ultimately serving God Himself. Scripture makes this clear in 1 Peter 4:10: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace.” In other words, stewardship is not just about what you have—it is about how you use what you have for God’s purposes.
So let me ask you: what has God given you that can be used to serve Him? Is it your voice? Your organizational skills? Your ability to teach, mentor, encourage, or lead? Perhaps it is generosity, compassion, wisdom, or diligence. None of these gifts were given accidentally. God expects every grace He has placed in you to be put to work.
Romans 12:6–8 instructs us plainly: “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us… if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is encouraging, then encourage… whoever shows mercy, do it cheerfully.”God’s will is not complicated—whatever He has given you, use it.
Child of God, make a firm decision: this is the year you fully engage your God-given abilities. If you have been sitting on your gifts, now is the time to rise and serve. And if you have been faithful in the past, ask yourself—is there more I can do? Faithfulness is not measured by intention, but by utilization. Heaven assesses stewardship by how well you employ all that God has placed in your hands.
Faith-Filled Confession
I am God’s masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for me to do. I will be diligent, faithful, and obedient in doing all that He has called me to do.
