BEWARE OF FAMILIAR VOICES

“The old prophet answered, "I too am a prophet, as you are. And an angel said to me by the Word of the LORD: 'Bring him back with you to your house so that he may eat bread and drink water.'" (But he was lying to him.)”

Beware of familiar voices that camouflage as the voice of God. These familiar voices have destroyed the destinies of both the gifted and anointed. I have often said, the enemy cannot push you into things or deceive you without your consent. One must be power and position-hungry for the enemy to entice them into destruction and rebelling. James 1:14 says AMP “But each one is tempted when he is dragged away, enticed and baited [to commit sin] by his own [worldly] desire (lust, passion)” So, stop blaming others and the devil for your bad behavior. Here’s an example: A person is given the opportunity to teach at church or lead a project at his or her workplace. And by the grace of God, the assignment was executed flawlessly. Not long after, messages started coming saying, "How come you don't preach more often? You brought down the house with that message!" Or you are the heart and soul of that company. Some will even go as far as saying, "You should be leading your own church or running your own company.." Listen, If you don’t want to die, RUN FOREST RUN.

In 1 Kings 13, the Bible says that the Spirit of God used a young prophet to perform a great miracle and then instructed him not to eat bread or drink water or return by the way he came. The King tested him, and he didn't succumb until a familiar voice confronted him; it was the voice of an old prophet whom God was done using. Saints of God, BEWARE OF FAMILIAR VOICES. This old prophet said to this young prophet after the young prophet refused his first advance, "I too am a prophet, as you are. And an angel said to me by the Word of the LORD: 'Bring him back with you to your house so that he may eat bread and drink water. (But he was lying to him)." The painful part was what the old prophet said after he heard of the demise of this young prophet. He said, "It is the man of God who defied the Word of the Lord. The Lord has given him over to the lion, which has mauled him and killed him, as the Word of the Lord had warned him."

Saints, the same people who egg you into rebellion will be the same people that will blame you for listening to them. You may think that these are the people that get you and understand your anointing and gifting but watch for when things go wrong. The same people that are singing your praises today will one day say, "crucify him." So, do not be deceived. RUN AWAY from people that try to put you on a pedestal that is not yours; those who sow seeds of rebellion in you, making you indifferent in the house of God.

Child of God, stay loyal and dedicated to your assignment. Let God elevate you in DUE SEASON. Jesus said in Luke 16:12 "And if you have not been faithful in the use of that [earthly wealth] which belongs to another [whether God or man, and of which you are a trustee], who will give you that which is your own?" What am I saying, beware and don't become a victim of those who have a form of godliness and anointing but are tools in Satan's hands to destroy your destiny.

Faith-Filled Confession:

The Spirit of God bears witness with my spirit concerning all that is mine in Christ. Therefore, I am not without direction. I am continually led and guided by the Holy Spirit. His Word is always a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
