BEER LAHAI ROI: THE WELL OF THE LIVING ONE WHO SEES ME

05/24/2024

“Now Isaac came from the way of Beer Lahai Roi, for he dwelt in the South. And Isaac went out to meditate in the field in the evening; and he lifted his eyes and looked, and there, the camels were coming”(Genesis 24: 62-63).

The spiritual realm is full of movements and today’s theme scripture is very instructive of movements that produce victory and grace for the believer.

One key to reading the Bible effectively is paying attention to the names of people and places (particularly in the Old Testament) that receive mention in the text. Applying this key in today’s devotional, "Isaac" is synonymous with a contagious laughter arising from divine victory and grace. Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me” (Genesis 21:6).

But there is a way by which this type of laughter comes. The scriptures say that this contagious laughter of divine victory and grace comes from the way of Beer Lahai Roi. So what does Beer Lahai Roi mean? It means the well of the Living One Who Sees Me or simply, the well of the Living God. Hear me, God doesn’t see you in the challenge you are going through. He sees you as you are. If you are going to operate as God sees you, you’ll have to look in His well.

In other words, the contagious laughter of victory and grace proceeds from the well of God. But what and where is God’s well? You ask. The well of God is the Word of God. “Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water” (John 4:10).

What is the Lord saying to us today? Get to the Word of God. The Word of God is the well that you can look into and see your true reflection. 1 Corinthians 13:11-12 says, “When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.”

When you truly see yourself from Beer Lahai Roí, only then, will the contagious laughter of victory and grace proceed from you. As the prophet says, “Therefore with joy you will draw water From the wells of salvation”( Isaiah 12:3). Maybe, your application recently got rejected and you are still feeling sore about it, snap out of it and go look in Beer Lahai Roi. Maybe, you or a family member went to the hospital and the diagnosis was not interesting to listen to. Get out of your own way and go look at Beer Lahai Roi.

After coming from Beer Lahai Roi, the Bible says, Isaac “…went out to meditate in the field in the evening; and he lifted his eyes and looked, and there, the camels were coming.” This means that the moment you meditate on what you see in the well of God, it starts coming to you.

Keep meditating, you don’t know the distance from which your goods are traveling to you. Looking will produce joy, but meditation will help you take delivery. Hallelujah!

Have a blessed day.

Faith-Filled Confession

I excel at looking at my true image in the Well of God. I know myself as I am known by the Lord. And as I meditate, there are massive movements of victory and grace in my favor so that nothing is impossible because I believe. Hallelujah!

Prayer

Pray for the leadership of the Iranian government, that every decision and action they take in light of the death of their president will be free from demonic influence that could bring about a global catastrophe.

Pray and declare that every mountain of influence in your nation is taken over by God’s people and used to propagate the saving news of the Lord Jesus.

Pray for the rise of Christian prophetic activism, city watchers, gatekeepers, and intercessors in the various mountains of influence. Declare that every policy initiative and law that sets itself against the Gospel in these mountains of influence will be demolished in Jesus' name.
