GOD-GRADE LOVE

06/14/2024

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35).

Love among believers is how the world will know that we are Jesus’ followers, and want to follow Him too. It is not by the amount of scripture you can quote out of the Bible, or the number of church meeting invitations you can distribute. Love, flowing endlessly like an ocean, from you to your brothers and sisters is where your evangelical work begins.

Jesus qualifies this love as one that will stand us out in the world because no other group of people has the capacity to love like we can. And just so you know, the love we have inside our hearts is God-grade love. The Bible tells us, “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us” (Romans 5:5).

Think about it for a second, only Christians can love like God does. And how does God love? What is this God-grade love? The Bible says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). This means that God-grade love can be expressed and discerned in a limitless capacity to seek the good of others, including the unlovable.

Now, if God has given you the capacity to love the worst serial killers, human traffickers, and child predators, what would it look like if you demonstrated the same quality of love to another believer? Indeed, this is God’s expectation. Ephesians 4:32 says, “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”

God-grade love is a seeking type of love. It is what made David ask: “Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

Our love for each other is God’s weapon of the hour to wreak havoc upon the hordes of hell and bring many out of darkness. As a practical step, I want you to look for a need that another believer has today and meet it from the love of God in your heart.

Let another believer experience a taste of the heaven in you today as you reach deep within to show kindness. Be deliberate, and unrestrained, and let love lead you today!

God bless you.

Faith-Filled Confession

I am an embodiment of the boundless love of God. And because the love of God is superabundant on my inside, I let it loose on believers today. I let the love of God compel me to seek out the good of as many people as the Lord sends my way today. In Jesus’ name. Amen
