“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalm 46:10
There is nothing more comforting than the Word of God, especially in seasons of pressure and uncertainty. Sometimes, when circumstances seem overwhelming and every natural option is exhausted, the greatest act of faith is simply to be still.
Now, being still doesn’t mean inactivity or passivity. It means releasing your reliance on human strength, intellect, and systems. It means you’re not panicking based on what you see or hear. Instead, your confidence is firmly rooted in God’s unchanging Word. As the psalmist boldly declared:“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear…” (Psalm 46:1-3).That’s faith in action — unshaken, unafraid, unmoved.
Think of Moses standing before the Red Sea with Pharaoh’s army closing in. The people of Israel cried out in fear, accusing Moses of leading them to die in the wilderness (Exodus 14:10-12). Fear caused them to forget God’s promise and question His power. But Moses, full of faith, responded:“Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD…” (Exodus 14:13).Hallelujah! That’s the voice of someone who had heard from God.
Fear says, “We’re doomed.”Faith says, “Stand still — God is at work.”
And what was the next thing God told Moses?“Speak to the children of Israel, that they go forward…” (Exodus 14:15).That word — that specific instruction — was the game-changer. Moses stretched out his hand, obeyed the Word, and the sea parted. The same is true for you. One word from God is enough to change everything.
Sometimes, in order to hear clearly, prayer must still your soul. And if needed, fasting will help silence the noise around you. Why? Because the key is always this: What has God said? When you get that Word, declare it boldly and act on it — it will never return void.
Are you in a tight place today? Facing opposition, delays, closed doors, or seemingly stubborn problems? Don’t panic. Don’t give up. Be still. Listen. Then speak what God has said. Victory is already yours!
Faith-Filled Confession
I am wired with divine DNA. The Lord is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life — of whom shall I be afraid? Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war rise against me, in this will I be confident. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world — and I have overcome by faith. My victory over adversity, sickness, failure, demons, and death is eternal. I know who I am. Praise God!
