A CALL TO STEWARDSHIP

2/1/2026

“This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.”

— 1 Corinthians 4:1–2

Ephesians 1:11 reminds us that “all things are done according to God’s plan and decision.” This means no one alive today exists by accident. You are not here to merely occupy space—you are here on divine assignment. God uniquely designed you for a purpose He could not entrust to angels or any other being. With that assignment came ability, skill, wisdom, influence, platforms, relationships, opportunities, and resources. Everything you have was given for effectiveness and for the fulfillment of God’s plan for your life.

In the parable of the talents, the master gave five talents to one servant, two to another, and one to another—each according to their ability (Matthew 25:14–30). This teaches us that God alone determines the scope and reach of our assignment. He decides what is entrusted to us, and He does so with clear expectations.

There was a shared understanding between the master and his servants: productivity was required. They were not called to merely preserve what they were given, but to multiply it. In the same way, you and I are stewards of God’s resources. Your “talents” may not be money alone—they may be your voice, skills, influence, platform, relationships, or opportunities. Whatever God has placed in your hands was given for one primary purpose: the advancement of His kingdom and the glorification of Jesus Christ.

If everything God has given to you has only advanced your personal agenda at the expense of Christ’s, then stewardship has failed. If relationships, platforms, and opportunities have passed through your hands without being leveraged for the gospel, then you are living for yourself—just like the servant who buried his talent. Fear, excuses, or delay do not justify unfaithfulness. The master’s verdict was clear: “You wicked and slothful servant” (Matthew 25:26). It is wickedness to allow God’s investment in you to go to waste, and heaven does not accept excuses for unfruitfulness.

Saints, here is the bottom line: God takes stewardship seriously. He expects faithfulness with what He has entrusted to us. For this reason, He is calling you—right now—to account for your stewardship. Use everything God has given to you to glorify Jesus and to advance His kingdom in your world.

This is the month of stewardship.

The time to respond is now.
