"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to cling to, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross" (Philippians 2:5-8).
There is no place in the Bible where we are told that an ordinary and pitiful life pleases God. In fact, Christianity without the demonstration of power is mere religion. Hebrews 11:6 says, "But without faith, it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." In other words, God is only pleased by faith, And if we truly walk by faith, we will demonstrate power. Jesus, while physically present on the earth, was a marvel to the world because He walked by faith. He did this by doing what He was commanded to do, which is what faith is--acting on the Word.
Saints, we have been called to demonstrate God's power to our world. We cannot excuse our shortcomings in this area by saying we do not want to draw attention to ourselves. Matthew 5:14-16 says, "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick, and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven." So let's not hide under false humility. Expect your life to call attention to God. Your life ought to be a public display of God's righteousness.
Philippians 2:5-8 says, "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to cling to, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross." Christ's humility was not only demonstrated at the cross. He also displayed humility in raising the dead and casting out demons. And now, the Scripture says, "let this mind be in you." In other words, you ought to maintain a consciousness of divinity with an attitude of service.
Romans 8:19 says, "For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God." Better still, the world around you sees the God in you and wants to partake of it. You may be the only Jesus that those that come in contact with you will encounter today. They want you to heal their sicknesses, cast out the devils that trouble them, and calm the storms in their lives. They need you to deliver them from the dominion of Satan unto the kingdom of God. And whenever you hear a person who is not saved, ask, "What would Jesus do?" It is their call for you to manifest Jesus. Acts 10:38 says, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him."
Today, you have the same anointing and the same Spirit as Jesus Christ. So, I encourage you to respond to the needs around you with the mindset of one who is a problem solver.
Faith-Filled Confession:
Today, I am led by the Spirit and the Word. Therefore, I do not stumble or falter. God's Word shines brightly on my path. And with such great illumination, I advance, making progress. In Jesus' name. Amen.
