WISDOM IS THE KEY

5/7/2025

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”

Wisdom is God’s design or blueprint for a thing or person. It’s not compulsory that you have God’s design or blueprint. So many people live their lives, run their homes and raise their children without God’s design. This is why the Bible says, “Man who isborn of woman Is of few days and full of trouble” (Job 14:1). People who are not born again are automatically programmed for  short and trouble-ridden lives because of the absence of divine design but not you.

If you are born again, you ought to have the blueprint of God for your life as a present moment information by which you orient your life. But not all of God’s elect have this wisdom of God working in them and one of the indicators is the presence of trouble. I mean, real trouble, not persecution type of trouble. Trouble like mothers being pushed to the point of eating their own children. If you look at  2 Kings 6:28, the Bible says, “Then the king said to her, “What is troubling you?” And she answered, “This woman said to me, ‘Give your son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.’” Things were so bad that people were eating their children because there was no wisdom.

In another instance, a widow of a forthright prophet was going to lose the next generation to debt-enslavement because wisdom was absent. And until she went to get wisdom, the problem lingered. “Then he [Elisha] said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.” (2 Kings 4:3-4)

This means that every issue you are faced with has an answer in the wisdom of God. So go for wisdom first. Don’t wait for calamities to break out before going for wisdom.

Two ways to get wisdom if you don’t have it yet are prayer and study. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” It means then that you incorporate a request for wisdom into your daily praying for yourself. There is no better prayer to pray for wisdom than in Ephesians 1:17-18. The new International version says, “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better, I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.”

The other way to gain insights from the wisdom of God is Bible study. There is no way around this. You must elect to study because it’s how you know your rights and privileges in the realm of the spirit. There are troubles you should never tolerate for a second if you have the wisdom of God for in you. For example, a Christian should not be sick. But if you are oblivious to John 6:47, you will subject your divine life to symptoms that you could have dismissed based on the wisdom of God.

Wisdom is not an option, Saint. It is a mandate. Step back and look at your life and make a list of things that are not quite right. They will get increasingly worse until you get wisdom. After you have made a list, engage the Lord through prayer and study.

Get wisdom!

Faith-Filled Confession

I have the wisdom of God. The wisdom of God is available to me as I set my heart to get wisdom through my prayers, Bible study and confessions. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
