USE THOSE WORDS AS WEAPON IN ORDER TO FIGHT WELL

4/17/2025

"Timothy, my child, I entrust to you this command, which is in accordance with the words of prophecy spoken in the past about you. Use those words as weapons in order to fight well” (1 Timothy 1:18 GNT).

Your attitude in life is vital. Proverbs 23:7 tells us that we are products of our thoughts, which ultimately determine our attitude--what we say and how we behave. Child of God, your attitude in life can either cause you to experience victory or cause you to experience defeat. Therefore, it is very important that you maintain an attitude and a mindset of faith; one that speaks God's Word irrespective of the severity or complexity of the situation.

Jesus said to His disciples after they expressed dismay at the withering away of the fig tree at His words, “Have faith in God,” or have the God-kind of faith. In saying this, Jesus was drawing their attention to the realm of the supernatural. He was saying to them, "Function from the realm of the supernatural." And in the realm of the supernatural, we are not moved by the size or severity of any circumstance; the bigger the problem, the greater our testimony! In this realm, we are driven by the Truth of God's word. So, rather than run away from problems, like David, we run into them knowing that we have the victory!

A key factor to the supernatural realm is that the supernatural realm requires for you to SPEAK! In this realm, you are engulfed by the Word of God to the point where you speak in line with what the Word says. In this realm, the Word of God is no longer containable; it begins to find expression through your lips. Jeremiah said, “If I say, ‘I will not mention Him, or speak any more in His name,’ there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot” (Jeremiah 20:9). In other words, because the Word had gained dominion over Jeremiah's soul, his decision to never speak in the name of God could not stand the firepower of the Word that was in him. I believe David was also in that place where he could not hold back God's words. He was so stirred up in his spirit that he said, and kept saying, "What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?" (1 Samuel 17:26). David said this again, and again, over many days. And as he repeated those words, he was emboldened to defeat Goliath. And you know the story; the little David because of an attitude of faith that speaks, sent Goliath to an early grace. The giant facing you today may not be a physical person; it could be a financial matter or a marital problem that just will not go away. And everything around you in the flesh is calling on you to give up. However, the Word in you would not let you. And instead of submitting to the pressure of the situation, you find yourself prophesying that the best is yet to come. Hallelujah!

Child of God, the victory in your marriage or any other area of your life is in your mouth. It is connected to what you say, and your attitude towards God's Word. Paul said to Timothy, "Timothy, my child, I entrust to you this command, which is in accordance with the words of prophecy spoken in the past about you. Use those words as weapons in order to fight well” (1 Timothy 1:18 GNT). Paul was instructing Timothy to use the Word to his advantage; as a weapon against those things that are contrary to God’s will for his life. So, child of God, do not act helpless before any challenge; rather, let the Word of God burn on your lips. Be bold to prophesy and speak God's Word, for in doing so, your victory is assured.

You are blessed.

Faith Filled Confession:I rejoice in the Word of God. I refuse to be controlled by external forces. I respond and act based on the eternal Word of God. I declare that I am a victor in this life. I am vitalized in my body, my mind is sound and my spirit is alive unto God. This is a day of celebration for me, in Jesus name, Amen.
