THE TECHNOLOGY OF DESIRE

"Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4).
Today's theme scripture has been subject to misinterpretations to the point that many of God's children have felt deprived of certain things that they wanted but didn't receive. But careful study of the text shows that when you delight yourself in the Lord, He will put godly desires in your heart. It is His desires He puts in your heart and not the things you have been desiring in the flesh, according to how many have interpreted (Psalm 37:4).
When you delight yourself in Him, He will put a desire in you for the Word of God, a desire to evangelize, and a desire to be among believers in fellowship. This technology of desire is how He transports you from one level of glory to another. In 1 Peter 2:2, the Lord says, "as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby."
In the spirit realm, desires are like currency. When you excite the Lord, one of the things He does is flood your heart with righteous desires. And when the enemy wants to attack you, the first thing He does is to attack those desires, and then you hear some Christians say they suddenly lost motivation or zeal to do certain things that they previously had a desire for. At such times this year, be smart to call a private fast in which you spend most of the time ministering to the Lord like certain prophets and teachers did in Acts 13:1-2; "Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, "Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them."
The other way the enemy attacks you, if you permit it, is to supplant godly desires with ungodly desires. This may show up as lustful or dirty thoughts, anxieties, or prideful thoughts just out of the blue. Now, while you may also call a fast, the simple way to deal with this onslaught is to cast down those imaginations by speaking in tongues and making confessions of the Word of God. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says, "... the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."
Understand that your desires are indicators of spiritual activity, and your responsibility is to encourage the Holy Spirit to put His desires in your heart while shutting down every incursion of the enemy to douse godly desires and or supplant them with ungodly ones.
Pay attention to your desires this year because your results will start at the level of desires.
Have a great day!
Faith-Filled Confession
I am sensitive to the desires in my heart. I will deliberately delight in the Lord so that He will flood my heart with desires that cause me to leap over obstacles into higher and greater realms of glory. Hallelujah!
