Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, But establish the just; For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds." (Psalm 7:9)
Someone might be wondering, Pastor why do I do so much and get so little in return? The simple answer to this question would be to ask why you do what you do so much. What is the motive of your heart when you do what you do? Is it for your agenda or for God's? I understand that you are a free moral agent but if you are Christian, your free moral agency takes a backseat in deference to your owner. This is why even though you are one spirit with the Lord, you must strive to become one soul with Him.
In James 1:21, you are told to "Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls." The implication here is that your soul is not yet one with the Lord's soul. And for the avoidance of doubt, the soul is a compartment that holds your intellect, memory and emotions. In essence, the soul is that composite that allows you to interact with the world around you.
Now, your soul is where your motives are regulated. Why you do what you do is based on the operations of your soul. If you will meditate on the word of God constantly like David who said, "Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day" (Psalm 119:97), you would be merging your soul with the Lord's soul so that your motives will be God's motives.
Understand what Romans 12:2 says from the Amplified version: "And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you]." You will have a completely different motive for the things that you do and then, success would be guaranteed.
Remember, nothing fails with God and if you are one soul with Him. nothing can fail with you.
God bless you!
Faith-Filled Confession
God's word is my constant meditation all day long. I am a success because my motives are aligned with God's motives. In Jesus' name. Amen
