THE PRAYER THAT MOVES THE HEART OF GOD

7/3/2025

“As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you...” (1 Samuel 12:23)

There is nothing mysterious about success—especially for the child of God. The very life you have in Christ is a testament to Christ’s triumph over hell and death. Your life is a living proof of His finished work, an embodiment of His eternal victory. Hallelujah!

As far as God is concerned, this life He gave you in Christ cannot fail or suffer defeat. I know some may dismiss this as a “light gospel” that lacks substance, but hear me: there is nothing light about the gospel if you take time to study the Word for yourself. You would be amazed to discover that many things we’ve heard that sounded scriptural have no root in the Word at all.

Look at 2 Corinthians 2:14 (AMP): “But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ’s victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere.”

Christianity is the Word alive; it is the exhibition of the Word. Until you embrace the totality of your new identity in Christ and boldly walk in that light, your prayers will continue to be filled with “give me, give me,” because your spiritual mindset is still immature.

Brothers and sisters, prayer is too beautiful and sacred to be reduced to a mere shopping list of needs. Prayer is not primarily a means to get God to do something for you, but a way to open your heart to Him—to fellowship with Him, to live with Him and through Him, in perpetual communion. It is a continued, unqualified surrender and commitment to God. You cannot truly say you’re living for God without a consistent, effective prayer life.

An effective prayer life is one that aligns with the Word. It brings about demonstrations of the supernatural in your life and in the lives of others when prayed in faith and in the name of Jesus.

If your prayers are always centered on getting your needs met, it shows you may not fully know who you are in Christ. But when you awaken to your identity in Him, you’ll realize that “all things are yours.” (1 Corinthians 3:21). Hallelujah!

Picture this: You see a man in a parking lot crying and begging God to give him the Range Rover parked in Lot 2. When you inquire, you learn that this same man is the registered owner of the car! He can cry all he wants, but God won’t “give” him the car because it already belongs to him.

Brothers and sisters, there is no perceived need in your life that God has not already made provision for in Christ Jesus. Instead of praying “give me, give me” prayers, start thanking and worshiping God for what He has already done for you in Christ.

Rather than asking Him for something, ask Him what He would have you do for Him.

When you pray, don’t rush off after saying “Amen.” Frank Laubach once said, “The trouble with nearly everybody who prays is that he says ‘Amen’ and runs away before God has a chance to reply. Listening to God is far more important than giving Him our ideas.”

Get excited about praying today. Listen to what He has to say. Whatever He tells you to do—do it. Then proclaim boldly to the world the benefits of obeying the Word.

God bless you!

Faith-Filled Confession

I give You thanks, Father God, that the blessing is working in my life right now. I declare, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, that today is my day for manifestation, demonstration, and exhibition of the glory of God. I am filled with love, laughter, courage, faith, patience, kindness, and strength. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Prayer Point

“I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18)

  1. Thank God for those in authority, declaring that they are positioned for the benefit of the church. Every law and policy made will favor the free spread of the Gospel in our land. We will never be disadvantaged.

  2. Declare that no influence or pressure from wicked and unreasonable men will sway our leaders from the path of truth, in the name of our Lord Jesus.

“Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.” (Isaiah 32:1)

  1. Pray that our leaders are bold to say "No" to evil counsel and pressure from non-state actors urging them to compromise human rights and jeopardize the future of their nation.

  2. Declare that they yield their hearts to the guidance of God’s Spirit, to speak up for the truth, and boldly reject and expose the machinations of evil and the counsel of darkness.

  3. Declare that the light of the glorious Gospel shines brighter and brighter and prevails in the nations.
