THE NATURAL MAN VS. THE SPIRITUAL MAN

8/4/2025

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”—1 Corinthians 2:14

Scripture clearly distinguishes two types of people: the natural man and the spiritual man. The natural man is spiritually blind, separated from the life of God. As Ephesians 2:12 describes, he is “without Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and a stranger to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.”

He lives under the dominion of darkness, governed by the prince of the power of the air—the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience (Ephesians 2:2–3). He operates according to the lusts of the flesh, bound by sin and enslaved by demonic influence.

The truth is sobering: anyone who is not born again is operating under satanic influence, whether knowingly or unknowingly. This is why the gospel must be preached—especially to those in our families. The life of the natural man is one of spiritual death, and without the light of Christ, they will continue on a dark and destructive path.

But there’s good news: salvation has already been made available!Ephesians 2:5–8 tells us, “Even when we were dead in sins, [God] hath quickened us together with Christ... For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”

We, the redeemed, have a responsibility to bring this good news to others. 1 Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” You are not ordinary. You are anointed to demonstrate this rich and satisfying life in Christ.

Romans 8:19 declares, “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” In other words, the answer to the chaos around you is the manifestation of who you really are in Christ! Christ in you is the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27)—and the hope of your family, your neighborhood, and your generation.

God saved you so that others might be saved through your witness. You are a divine agent in the spiritual ecosystem—strategically placed to break demonic yokes and release destinies. Your obedience to the Holy Spirit is not just about you. It’s about everyone who will come into contact with you.

You are a member of the Body of Christ with power and authority. Jesus said in Mark 16:15, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel…” and He didn’t stop there—He added, “...cast out devils… heal the sick.”Ephesians 3:9 says we are to “make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery…”This mystery is Christ in you—revealed, expressed, and boldly proclaimed.

So today, rise up with fresh boldness. Depend on the power of the Holy Spirit who lives in you. Let the love of God in you heal the broken and shine into the darkest corners of the world.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it more abundantly.”—John 10:10 (ESV)

Faith-Filled Confession

I refuse to be intimidated by the presence or opinions of others. I will not be silent. I am anointed for soul-winning. Lord Jesus, I boldly speak in Your name and live for Your glory today. I declare that I have supernatural strength, wisdom, and inspiration for divine accomplishment. I am not afraid of darkness—I shine into it. Christ in me is the hope of glory! Praise God!
