"He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him." (Psalm 126: 6)
Intercession holds such value in the eyes of God that He actively seeks intercessors. Ezekiel 22:30 tells us that God seeks "...for a man among them [prophets, priests, politicians, and the general populace ] who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one."
God may call people to be ministers, but He actively seeks intercessors. Why? Because His plans, pursuits, and purposes hinge on the presence of an intercessor. Isaiah 59:14-16 underscores this truth: "Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands afar off; for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. So truth fails, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Then the LORD saw it, and it displeased Him that there was no justice. He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor..."
The intercessor serves as an interceptor of calamities and a facilitator of joy. Isaiah 63:4-5 (AMP) reveals, "For the day of vengeance [against ungodliness] was in My heart, and My year of redemption [of those who put their trust in Me—the year of My redeemed] has come. "I looked, but there was no one to help, And I was amazed and appalled that there was no one to uphold [truth and right]. So my own arm brought salvation to me, and My wrath sustained Me."
There comes a day when Satan accuses people for their wrongdoing, compelling God to justly permit judgment. On that day, God hopes to find your intercession as an interceptor. Similarly, there is a year when God designates favor for His chosen, but finds no facilitator to receive this dispensation. May it never be that our Lord needs us in such critical times, and we find ourselves entangled in other pursuits.
Intercession involves labor, and this is why many shy away from it. However, God has appointed us to take positions across the earth, tasking us with intercepting judgment and securing goodness for the righteous and those who have yet to know Him. As prayer burdens emerge from the spiritual realm regarding places, people, and causes, we cannot afford to fall short. Our duty is to assume our positions, listen to the Lord's directives, and bring them to fruition through the labor of prayer. Like Habakkuk, it is time to "...stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected" (Habakkuk 2:1).
Have a glorious day!
