PRAYING FOR PARTNERS

1/21/2026

2 Corinthians 9:7–8

“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”

Philippians 1:7

“It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me.”

Luke 22:35

“Then Jesus asked them, ‘When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?’ ‘Nothing,’ they answered.”

Many believers love the Scripture that says, “My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). It is one of the most quoted promises in the Bible—and also one of the most quoted out of context.

When you read the preceding verses, it becomes clear that the Apostle Paul pronounced this blessing specifically upon the church at Philippi because of their partnership with his ministry. In essence, Paul was saying, “Because you partnered with me in the preaching of the gospel, my God shall supply all your needs.”

Child of God, here is a simple truth: if you truly believe in a cause, you will give to it. You will give your time, your resources, and your finances. Jesus made this unmistakably clear when He said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Luke 12:34).

There is no one exempt from giving. Do not ever say that you have nothing to give toward the advancement of the gospel. Making such a statement corrupts the grace for prosperity that is already at work in your life. Giving is not about what you have in your hand—it is about what is in your heart. And when your heart is aligned with God, Heaven responds.

God Himself said in Malachi 3:10 that when you give, He will “open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to receive it.” Someone once asked me, “Why do the rich keep getting richer while the poor keep getting poorer?” My response was simple: the poor often think they are excused from giving.

Child of God, do not be deceived. When you give to God, you receive. And you always receive more than you give, because you cannot out-give God. The Scripture assures us in 2 Corinthians 9:8 that God makes all grace abound toward the giver—so that you always have all sufficiency in all things, with abundance for every good work.

Through partnership, you become a partaker of grace. Through partnership, God Himself takes responsibility for your provision. Partnership with the gospel is divine insurance against lack and poverty. It not only positions you to receive Heaven’s abundance, but it also advances Heaven’s agenda—souls saved, lives healed, captives delivered, and destinies restored.

So this year, determine to excel in the grace of giving. Make the decision to partner with your local church. Do not be inconsistent or occasional in your giving. Be intentional. Be faithful. Be joyful. And as you do, watch God prove Himself faithful to His Word.

Faith-Filled Confession

Through my giving, I declare that my trust is in Christ alone. He is my source. I am abundantly blessed by Him, so that in all things, at all times, I have all that I need—and I continue to abound in every good work, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
