JESUS WAS NOT ENTITLED

"Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage." — Philippians 2:6

We live in a world where many people feel entitled to recognition, promotion, special treatment, or rewards. Yet when we look at Jesus, we see a completely different attitude.

Jesus was the Son of God. He possessed all power and authority. He was worthy of worship, honor, and glory. Yet He never used His position for personal gain. Instead, He humbled Himself and took on the nature of a servant.

Philippians 2:7-8 tells us that He "made Himself nothing" and became obedient even to death on a cross.

Think about that.

The King of kings washed the feet of His disciples. The Creator served His creation.

The Lord of glory humbled Himself for the benefit of others. Jesus understood that greatness in God's Kingdom is not measured by how many people serve you, but by how willing you are to serve others.

Entitlement says, "What do I deserve?” Humility says, "How can I serve?"

Entitlement complains when recognition does not come. Humility continues to work faithfully whether anyone notices or not.

Entitlement demands rewards. Humility trusts God for promotion.

Many people miss what God wants to do in their lives because they are waiting for someone to acknowledge them. They feel overlooked, underappreciated, or passed over. But Jesus showed us a better way. He focused on His Father's purpose, not on people's approval.

Child of God, let the attitude of Christ become your attitude. Refuse to be driven by entitlement, pride, or the need for validation. Serve faithfully. Love generously. Give your best in every assignment God places before you.

Remember, God sees every act of obedience, every sacrifice, and every act of service. In His time, He knows how to honor those who walk humbly before Him.

The path to true greatness is the path Jesus walked—humility, submission, and service.

And that path always leads to God's promotion.

Faith-Filled Confession

I have the mind of Christ. I walk in humility, love, and service. I refuse entitlement, pride, and self-promotion. My focus is on pleasing God and fulfilling His purpose for my life. As I humble myself before the Lord, He directs my steps and establishes His plans for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
