"If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you" (John 15:7).
Chip Brogden once said, "If God will do whatever He wishes, regardless of whether we pray or not, then we do not need to pray at all, and the Lord's instructions on praying for the Kingdom and the will are superfluous." In other words, those who believe "what shall be, shall be" are in for a rude awakening! God doesn't do things on the earth because He can; He acts ONLY when we conform with His Word. Nothing happens here on earth without the operation of our faith in God's Word through prayer (Read Hebrews 4:2, Matthew 6:9-10, 1 John 5:14-15).
Saints, God wants to establish His will, reign, victory, and preeminence in your sphere of influence. But He needs you to do what His Word says. He needs you to PRAY His WORD. Someone may say, "But Pastor, we can't just be declaring and praying the Word only. I heard about this powerful prayer. And I think we should pray it too." My question to you is this, does that prayer conform to the Word? Does that prayer take into account the victory and conquest of Jesus Christ? If it doesn't, then it's useless. What makes a prayer prayerful is that it accounts for what Jesus has already done.
Until we realize this simple truth about prayer, things will never change. And it does not matter if you pray from sun up to sun down. Jesus said, "If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you" (John 15:7). So, if you are wondering how Jesus was so full of the miraculous, this is it. It is what I call "the synchronization of the Holy Ghost." Here is the mystery. God and His Word are one (John 1:1); there is no God without the Word and no Word without God. God will never act outside of His Word, and the Word is confined to the Father. Better still, the Word is unlimited, yet the only thing that defines what the Father can and can not do is the Word (Hebrews 6:18). So when you got saved, you came into Christ, and now, you abide in Him ( 2 Corinthians 5:17; Colossians 3:3). However, it is your responsibility to have His Word abide in you. This is why He gave you the Holy Ghost to help build the Word in you.
When that Word is built in you, and your spirit is fully in-sync with the WORD, your prayer life will take a new meaning. You will pray with swag and authority because of the assurance that the Word gives. 1 John 5:14-15 says, "And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him."
So the next time you pray, don't pray your senses; instead, pray the Word. It will amaze you how swiftly you will receive results from God.
Faith Confession
Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I thank You for your life that's at work in every fiber of my being, every cell of my blood, and every bone of my body. My whole being is immune to death, decay, and the corrupting influences in the world! My path is the path of life, righteousness, joy, gladness, and peace forevermore. Christ is my life, and in Him, I live, move, and have my being.
Prayer Point for Children and Teens
Pray for our children and teenagers. Pray that they are shielded from all evil and wicked devices of the enem. Pray that they are rescued from wicked and unreasonable men, protected on every side, undistracted by negative peer pressures, but growing up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Pray that they fulfill their purpose in Christ.
Pray that their parents, teachers, and caregivers are guided in God's wisdom. Pray that our children and teenagers are led in the way they should go and that they are excellent in every way, to the glory of God.
