LIVING IN PERPETUAL VICTORY: YOUR PEACE

7/12/2025

“Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]” (John 14:27 AMPC)

Contrary to what many have believed, anxiety is not meant to be a normal part of the Christian life. In the Kingdom of God, there are no "down days." The wisdom of this world teaches that “you win some and lose some,” but in the Kingdom, you are declared a victor long before you ever face a challenge. The world promotes anxiety and fear as natural and acceptable, and sadly, many believers have unknowingly bought into this lie.

God desires that you live in peace — not the kind of peace that depends on circumstances, but the peace that is anchored in Him, who never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He sees the end from the beginning and has already declared your victory. Hallelujah! Romans 14:17 tells us, “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.”

God has given us His life and His Spirit. According to 2 Timothy 1:7, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” If He didn’t give it to you, then you should not have it. Fear and anxiety were never in God’s design for you. 2 Peter 1:3 declares that God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness — and fear is not one of them. Again and again throughout Scripture, we hear His command: "Fear not!"

Science has long tried to understand the roots of depression, but Proverbs 12:25 gives us the simple truth: “Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.” When you allow anxiety and fear to take residence in your heart, they open the door to depression and make you vulnerable to the enemy. Job himself revealed this when he said, “For the thing which I greatly feared has come upon me, and that which I was afraid of has come unto me” (Job 3:25). Fear and anxiety break down your protective hedge, and Ecclesiastes 10:8 warns, “Whoever breaks a hedge, a serpent will bite him.”

Jesus makes this very clear in John 14:27. He said, “Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you.” This means He has given you the same peace He Himself had — not an inferior kind, but His very own peace. He not only gave it to you, He left it with you permanently. Rejoice! You have peace. Glory to God!

Jesus continues, “Not as the world gives do I give to you.” The world’s peace is conditional, unreliable, and performance-based. But the peace Jesus gives is unchanging, unwavering, and eternal. It remains even in the midst of storms and chaos.

Then He says, “Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” Notice, you have a role to play. It is your responsibility to guard your heart, to refuse to allow agitation or fear to take root. You are the gatekeeper of your thoughts and emotions. If you give fear a "permit" to build, it will construct a towering stronghold in your mind. Once anxiety enters, depression is never far behind. That’s why 2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us to cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

You must receive and activate His peace by faith. Declare it boldly: “I have the peace of God!” Meditate on His Word. Fix your thoughts on Him. Isaiah 26:3 promises, “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you.”

Refuse to give room to fear or anxiety! Just as Jesus told Jairus, "Fear not!" (Luke 8:50). Fill your heart and mind with His Word, speak His Word only, and watch His supernatural peace flood your life beyond all understanding.

God bless you!

Faith-Filled Confession

Thank You, Father, for Your joy and Your peace. I declare that I have peace on every side — in my mind, my body, my spirit, my home, my work, and in all that concerns me. My children are taught of the Lord, and great is their peace. I affirm my victory. I give no room to fear or anxiety. I align myself with God’s Word and refuse to be moved by external circumstances. I declare that I am a living wonder to my world today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
