"And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?" (Mark 4:13)
Revelation is a mark of increased intimacy. The more intimate you become with the Lord, the more likely He will reveal His ways to you. Psalms 103:7 says, "He [the Lord] made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel." One of the very instructive things that the Lord would have us know is how everything works in His kingdom. This is the revelation that should influence everything you are and do as a Christian.
In today's theme scripture, Jesus introduces us to the master parable and it is about how the Kingdom of God works. "Then He said, “To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we picture it? It is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth; but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade” (Mark 4:30-32).
Too many operate in the Kingdom with a transactional, fly-in, fly-out mentality when the orientation of the Kingdom of God is seedtime and harvest. If you would just pay attention to sowing words in meditation, prayer, confessions, and preaching, and keep sowing. And focus on sowing money, time, and effort...and keep sowing...then, Kingdom results would be your testimonies.
Too often, Christians logicize results and orient their actions by the results they want. In the process of logicizing, many set schedules for God to respond or even how God will respond. But how the results come should never be your concern. "Jesus also said, “The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, while he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens" (Mark 4: 26-27). Your job is to scatter seeds and expect a harvest in due season.
In our Kingdom, it is most important to be seed-minded because this wisdom confounds the wisdom of this age. 1 Corinthians 2:8 NIV says, "None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory." If the rulers of this world knew that crucifying Jesus would germinate into so many sons of God, they would not have participated in sowing Him as the seed for you.
So, your job is to keep sowing seeds. Jesus told us the Word of God is seed (see Luke 8:11). Paul referred to your financial gifts as seed (see 2 Corinthians 9:9-11). James referred to your effectual fervent prayer as a seed that avails much (James 5:16). We know that preaching is a seed because of the attitude the Bible advocates we approach it with. It says, "Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching" (2 Timothy 4:2).
No farmer plants without anticipating a harvest and this takes time in the natural realm. The Bible says, "For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God[sown seeds], you may receive the promise [the harvest]" (Hebrew 10:36).
Saint of God, this is a year for results, and making the shift to becoming sowing-minded is the secret to unlocking the "super" on your natural efforts.
God bless you!
Faith-Filled Confession
I am seed-minded, recognizing that this is how the Kingdom of God functions. This year, I unlocked the storehouses of heaven with my seeds of confessions, prayer, sacrifices, giving, and preaching. I gained results that were boggling to the comprehension of my peers because God did through and for me, that which far exceeded expectations. In Jesus' name. Amen
