"Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping--believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, "That's how many descendants you will have!" (Romans 4:18).
I was recently asked, "Pastor, what should I do when I don't see the change I prayed for this year?" My response was simple: "REJOICE." Many of us prayed for things concerning 2023 that are yet to materialize. However, if you have followed the Lord's guidance, it's time to celebrate! Some might say, "Pastor, I want to rejoice, but I need a miracle right now!" Yet, I'll say again: if you've followed God's instructions, it's time to rejoice. The absence of an immediate physical change doesn't mean your prayers have gone unanswered. Change doesn't always align with our preferred shape or size. When you prayed, God heard and provided you with specific instructions. If you've followed those instructions, trust Him, irrespective of how things may appear or feel at the moment.
Romans 4:18 says of Abraham, "Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping--believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, "That's how many descendants you will have!" If Abraham could keep believing God even when the natural factors of age were against him and his wife, what then is too hard for God to do? Abraham had every reason to give up, but he didn't. The Scripture tells us that "Abraham's faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah's womb. Abraham never wavered in believing God's promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this, he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever He promises."
Never entertain the thought of giving up, especially with just a few days left in the year. In all honesty, giving up should never be on the table. Refrain from speaking negatively about the job promotion that hasn't materialized or the relationship goals that appear to have faded away. Remember, God has brought you this far, and as Philippians 1:6 assures, "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." I may not fully comprehend the magnitude of your situation, but I do know that, in the grand scheme of things, it is insignificant before God. In Him, there is always hope that tomorrow will surpass today.
God bless you!
