"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."(John 14:27)
Christians should not be fighting battles that Jesus has already won. We were the very reason He fought in the first place. He overcame the adversary on our behalf so that we could enjoy perpetual victory and peace. If, after all that Jesus has done, we continue to engage the same enemy He has already defeated, something is wrong with our understanding. That is proof that we are operating outside of the Word.
When it comes to peace, the child of God already has peace. Peace was given to you at salvation. Yet, many believers live lives characterized by anxiety, fear, and unrest. They chase after various remedies, searching for the peace they already possess. But Jesus said, “I have given you peace of mind…” (John 14:27). This means you already have everything you need to live a peaceful life.
The day you got saved, the peace of God came into you. You do not have to pray for peace—Jesus Himself has become your peace. Isaiah 9:6 calls Him the Prince of Peace. And Jesus Himself promised in Matthew 28:20, “And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” If this is true (and it is), why would any Christian confess they lack peace in their life or home?
Many of us don’t realize it, but when your confession contradicts the person and ministry of Jesus, you are rejecting the power of His finished work in your life. And when you reject His power, you cannot expect to see the manifestation of what He has already done for you.
Child of God, You have peace of mind.Your life is peaceful and beautiful. The peace you have in Christ is not external—it is not dependent on circumstances or people.
Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)
Why did Jesus distinguish between His peace and the peace the world offers? Because He didn’t want us to confuse material peace with divine peace.
For example, someone might say, “I will have peace when I pay my bills.” But that’s material peace—peace based on circumstances. True peace—the kind Jesus gives—does not depend on your job, your marriage, your children, or your finances. It is from God, rooted in the person of Jesus Christ.
If your peace is dependent on external conditions, you are shortchanging yourself. You will never experience the fullness of the peace Jesus has already provided.
The presence of Jesus in you is your peace. This peace does not bow to anything contrary to His finished work. When Jesus spoke of peace, He wasn’t referring to the absence of challenges. He was talking about power—the power of victory over the circumstances of life.
In John 16:33, He said:"I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]"
In other words, the challenges you face are not designed to harm you. Jesus has already deprived them of power. In fact, every challenge is an opportunity for promotion—a setup for your next level. Each situation will bring revelation, and each revelation will bring elevation.
So, have no fear. Refuse to be troubled by bad news. Do what Jesus did:Speak peace. And after you’ve spoken peace, anchor your mind on the Word.
The peace of God in you is power over adversity.Declare it every time!
God bless you!
Faith-Filled Confession:
I am not afraid of the terror by night or the arrow that flies by day, or the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, or the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at my side, ten thousand at my right hand, but it will not come near me. For the Lord is my refuge and my fortress. In Him alone is my trust. He is my peace.
PRAYER POINT
Pray for our brethren, that an indescribable hunger for souls is stirred in them continually causing them to preach the word everywhere with boldness, resulting to the salvation of more souls and that the Word of the Lord may increase and bear more fruits in them (Acts 4:29-31)
Pray that the light of our glorious Gospel will continue to shine with increased intensity in our city. Declare that signs and wonders will be a common phenomenon whenever our Gospel is preached, until the knowledge of the Glory of our God covers our city as the water covers the sea. Habakkuk 2:14 – For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea
Declare every opposition against our pastors are ineffective; that through the work of our pastors, the kingdom of God expands exceedingly, and established in the hearts of men, and the name of our Blessed Lord be glorified. Amen.
