"And this I pray, that your love may abound more and more [displaying itself in greater depth] in real knowledge and in practical insight..." (Philippians 1:9 Amplified)
Love is the accurate estimation of the worth of another. You only love when you treat another with the exact estimation of their worth as God the Creator has determined. Today's theme scripture says that love abounds in the display of real knowledge and in practical insight.
In other words, you know you love when your actions reveal real knowledge and practical insight into another. Hear me, love is not a feeling. It isn't a profession or 'butterflies in your belly.' Rather, it is the display of real knowledge and practical insight into the worth of God and others to you.
You don't love Jesus with your emotions or professions. You love Jesus by the accurate estimation of His worth. So who is Jesus to you? What is His worth to you? For starters, and not exhaustively, the Bible says that Jesus is your completer. Colossians 2:10 says, "...and you are complete in Him [Jesus], who is the head of all principality and power." Any shortcomings you may have as a being limited by a human body can only be overcome by Jesus.
If Jesus is your completer, then your true estimation of Him would be to follow His instructions to you without equivocation for without Him you are not complete. Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments" (John 14:15). Yet, Jesus is more than just your completer. He is also your owner, the Word of God and a gamut of other things to you, which is why your true estimation of Him and indeed, anyone else, may only be improved by prayer.
Today's theme scripture is a call to prayer that you would increase in accuracy in your estimation of others. If Paul prayed for saints this way, then so should you; that your love may abound in knowledge and discernment such that you are able to "approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ" (Phillippians 1:10).
Therefore spend time, even now speaking in other tongues, and ask the Lord that He would cause your love, your capacity to accurately estimate the worth of others will increase tremendously such that you live a life of greater glory without offence in Jesus' name. Amen.
Have a beautiful day.
Faith-Filled Confession
I declare that my love is abounding more and more such that I approve of the things that are excellent in others. And for this reason, I am sincere and without offence till the day of Christ. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen
