"And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God" (Romans 4:19-20) Faith is the response of the human spirit to the word of God. It is thinking, speaking and acting in line with the word of God. However, faith has its dimensions and the Lord would have you recognize them. The first dimension is strong faith. Strong faith is the opposite of weak faith. Strong faith is built through constant and consistent exposure to the promise or hope of God until you are emptied of doubt concerning the word of God for a particular area of your life. In the case of Abram, we see that God exposed him over and over to His guarantee that he would be the heir of the world. In Genesis 15:5-6, the Bible says, "Then He [the Lord] brought him [Abram] outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness." Believing is not faith but believing is the precursor to faith. When you believe what God has said, you come to a spiritual awareness of a possibility. However, this spiritual awareness may not necessarily come with absolute certainty until you have exposed yourself over and over to what God has said about that possibility. Abram did not waiver from the promise of God through unbelief because he was exposed to the promise over and over again. His name was changed in the process. He and Sarah had Isaac. And this process that led to strong faith, Genesis 22:17 shows us that God reaffirmed His guarantee to Abraham when He said, "blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore, and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies." Why have I shared this with you today? God is saying to expose yourself to my word concerning the things that you want to experience until there is a saturation of belief in which you don't stagger. Listen to the word of God and meditate on it until you see it with your spirit and are certain. The Lord is saying to you allegorically, let me touch your eyes the second time because your vision of marriage, ministry, childbirth, prosperity and so on is still too foggy. You will stagger if your vision is foggy. "Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly." (Mark 8:25) Strong faith is faith that has been properly marinated in hope. You are not jumpy about acting on the word of God. Rather, you settle until the promises of God are a registered certainty in your spirit and the basis from which you take action. Hallelujah! Faith-Filled Confession I am strong in faith because I settle on the promises of God concerning me until there is an incitement to action. I am not moved by the senses but by the word of God. Glory!!
